Me and my dd went a few weeks ago and we laughed and cried throughout that movie. I heard on the radio that it ended on a good note for a follow-up movie. The other night I went and saw Schindeler's List with my ds and brought a ton of tissues, but I knew what to expect from that movie.

Jewels, we laughed a lot too! Schindler's List is a good movie, I actually bought it after it came out and I hardly ever buy movies.

I love movies that make me cry, but not if I'm watching with someone who makes fun of me for crying!

Then please don't ever watch The Yearling! I've never cried so much in a movie in my entire life. I cried through the book as well.

No tear jerkers or scary movies for me. I just watched Peppermint. It was action packed and predictible......but I love Jennifer Garner & Dvd's.

Oh gee!!........I am a sucker for a good soppy movie!! And guaranteed to produce waterworks if it includes animals - Milo and Otis, Homeward Bound, My Dog Skip. Even A Dog's Purpose, although the book was much more of a tear jerker than the movie.

I have also been known to cry at various human-based movies as well although few come to mind at the moment :-) I find having a good cry can be very cathartic, especially if the source/reason of the crying is not personal!

I saw The Green Book last night with a group of friends. It's based on a true story and was really good. No tears but certainly sadness in that the treatment of a segment of Americans was so awful and only because of the colour of their skin.

Both hubby and I liked movies that made us cry. The Notebook is still my favourite, and it's a tear-jerker at the end for sure.

I was lent some DVD's by my friend. I watched a couple yesterday.

Burlesque which is very good! Cher, Christina Agulera, Julianne Hough, Stanley Tucci (LOVE him) and others. Not sad at all, I'm just mentioning it as a recommend.

The other one I thought was a silly comedy, but I took it anyway. I watched it last nite and it's a heart-warming show. Shallow Hal with Jack Black and Gwynneth Paltrow. I really enjoyed it.

The other two I don't think I'll bother watching, I started to watch The Polar Express but it didn't catch my interest at all.

I am an avid reader and know it's a good book when it makes me cry. That doesn't happen often but I remember one book that made me sob and that is rare. When my son was young he was crying while watching a movie. After it was over he looked at me and said, while wiping his eyes, that was a good movie.

Movies don't have to be sad to make me cry. If they are beautiful, heart-touching, funny, have soaring music, or have a perfect resolution, I cry. Heck, that Folger's commercial where the son comes home in time for Christmas and puts on the coffee, that makes me cry. (I love a good pot of coffee lol)

If a book made me weep, (Harold Fry), I know I cannot watch the movie.

As for the commercials about evil side effects of drugs, we mute the TV as soon as commercials come on. Not just those, but those with annoying music like car and cable commercials. Life's to short to be annoyed.

I haven't been to the movies in almost 20 years and haven't watched any on TV or DVD in a least 10, but I watch horse videos on FB....usually rescued horses that have been rehabbed, and they always make me cry.

I will not knowingly watch tear jerkers movies or TV shows. Or horror/sadistic/abusive storylines either.

Feel good movies can make me cry; Clydesdale commercials make me cry. And they're not sad.

I don't mind if they make me cry, but I'd rather watch them alone so that no one sees me cry. One that gets me every time, both the book and the movie, is Where the Red Fern Grows. Actually, pretty much anything with animals makes me cry, even happy endings!

There can be a difference between SAD stories and heart-touching stories. I loved Instant Family, and yes I did cry during it. But because the message was poignant, not because it was outright SAD. Made my heart feel good.

Jasdip, I saw the clydesdales " in person", and I couldn't stop the tears. I had on sunglasses, but that didn't help.

The movie that got me was Terms of Endearment, which I saw with my mother.

I also record most of the shows we watch on TV and FF through the commercials, and if it is a news program, I FF through the sports as well, or any other topic I'm not interested in. Otherwise I mute all commercials.

I generally do not cry from reading a book, but as a teenager, I read most of Thomas Hardy's novels, and those came close. For some reason, I always identified with his tragic heroines.

I was hoping to see Aquaman but it hadn't come out in theaters yet. The other choice that Lauren picked was a movie I didn't know anything about. I think it was based on a teen book series that I started to read years ago but got disinterested.

Okay, so last night I was watching the Dr. Who episodes that were the last two for David Tennant (I am catching up on the series) and yes, I cried!
