Please help redo my master bath! (pics)
Comments (13)Wow! Lots of great advice to ponder. Here's what I am thinking so far: ** new vanity - a medium color wood - cherry with a burnished glaze - same standard 60" size ** 2 mirrors above sinks, new brushed nickel light fixtures above each ** granite counter (still working on color to tie into white tile) with 2 undermount white sinks ** new toilets Not sure about and would love more input on: ** paint color - this gold is not a great color, but it's fairly new and matches the master bedroom. How about painting a wall or the ceiling brown? ** blinds - what kind??? I have no clue! ** window treatments - what kind?? This is a very hard to fit bay-style window ** change shower doors - would LOVE to, but not sure it's in the budget. ** tile is all white and in good condition, so there's no changing that. ** those pictures are really outdated? I didn't realize...that's why this message board is so great! TIA!!...See MoreNeed help with tile choices please (Master bath)
Comments (15)Hahaha tibbrix, I had to google "flash in the pan" and yes I agree the green tile could very well be a fad and in 5-10 years it may scream old or dated BUT I do like it ... I tried picking a glass tile that wasn't too bright or bold/mix in colors hoping it would be more subtle and stay in style for a while ... I can't predict the future but I do know I have a good chance of getting a better look by replacing what I already have. I appreciate the suggestions. I love the wood floors but I just installed 900 sq ft of solid wood in the house and I wouldn't want to mix hardwood types in my home, and what I have now isn't made for bathrooms. Did I mention I'm in a cookie cutter neighborhood, so nothing too fancy here. :) Sochi I have looked at your bathroom hundreds of times. It's my favorite! I hope you're ok with me using the pic, otherwise I can delete it. I looked up your tile but they don't show a store in MO and I'm thinking its over my budget :) a girl can dream though I need a little more help everyone, I've narrowed down the vanity countertop to two choices - both hanstone, the more speckled one is swan cotton and the other is aurora snow. My dream countertop was alway swan cotton but the more I look at it it's almost too much speckle... What are your thoughts?...See MorePlease help with master bath design
Comments (20)Michou, I’m so excited! I just talked to my husband and showed him your wet room and plan. I showed him a bunch of other photos I saved today, and he is on board with the idea. He had already wanted a huge shower there, had even lowered the floor board for the shower floor and started waterproofing while I was out of town. Yeah he does crazy stuff when I’m gone...ha! When I got home and saw it, I was thinking the shower was just too stinkin’ BIG. He was willing to change it, but with this idea he won’t have to. He’s the contractor, so less work for him equals done deal. Thanks again for the idea!...See MoreMaster bath budget renovation
Comments (1)Remove mirror above bathtub. Find one large or four medium sized art pieces to replace there. Use 4 sconces for vanity mounted in the mirror and have it framed out. or replace mirror with 2 large 36x48 mirrors. Seriously consider reglazing the floor tile a light neutral color and small decorative tiles that are green to match existing tile. Paint walls a cool taupe or grey with green in it. Polished chrome is nice (& inexpensive) as the satin and oil rubbed are going off trend. When budget allows you should get a frameless shower enclosure. Nice sized bathroom good luck...See MoreJules
