I bought some "Lifeproof" vinyl plank click-together flooring for $1 / sq foot (normally about $3.99 / sq foot) and installed in the bathroom of a small duplex that we own over this past weekend.

My car was packed with tools and materials for the task and I thought I was ready for any contingency, but I was wrong. I knew I needed to pull the toilet to put the new flooring under it, and anticipated the possibility of the shut off valve not working and brought two different ones with me -- just in case. Sure enough the existing valve didn't turn off the water, but turning it caused it to start leaking out of the stem, and unfortunately neither of the valves I had brought would fit since it was a 3/8" threaded iron pipe.

For the third time this year, I took advantage of the $10 credit issued by Amazon for any reorder from history via Alexa voice. This time I purchased 48 AAA Energizers for $9 after credit. With grands living close by, we stock more batteries than treats.

The apron sink is now officially INSTALLED!

Oh! Yeah, Butterfly is part of the same family! It’s an easy granite to take care of and not as porous as some others. The slab we chose had a couple of really big anomolies in it that are that pretty caramel coppery color. The shop wanted to cut them out entirely because this family of granite is suppose to be more uniformed, but we wanted to keep them in and ended up putting them where they had higher visability.

I had something similar in my last house I think it had that name Verde Butterfly and it was a dream to live with. Virtually bullet proof.

Saturday at the grocery I stumbled across a case of beef briskets that had been marked down 50% -- to approximately $2/lb!! Didn't sell as well as expected for Hanukkah, I guess. I bought 3 and popped them into the freezer.

Rae--- I was looking for brisket last week and there were only 2 small ones at $7.99 lb. I remember last year they were like 3.99 or even less. Oh well. Glad you scored that deal! enjoy!!!!

After getting soaked last week I decided I really need a hooded rain coat. Found one on sale at Macy's, reduced from $79 to $27, with free shipping. Hopefully the drought won't come back so I'll get lots of use out of it. :)

Thank you Cindy for the idea and the link! I just ordered two of the 3-foot size. Regular $89 each and I got both for $58 with free shipping. They will arrive before Christmas but I plan to use them next year when it is our turn to host on the 25th. I think I may use one in an outdoor container in a covered area. I love that they run on batteries!

CindyMac, in addition to ordering 2 of the 3-foot size birch trees from RH, I later ordered 2 of the 2-foot size. They are now (and I got them for) $12 each with free shipping. I love that the 2-foot trees are cordless (I thought the 3-foot ones were too when I ordered them and before I read the website more closely). I will get a lot of use out of them. They really brighten up the dark corners during these longer nights.

I also found this JVC boom box @ Goodwill for $25. Makes the TV & DVD in the workout room sound like a theatre. The speakers are 90watts. My husband wants me to look for another one for his shop. :0)

I filled up my gas tank (and several gas cans too, to get to the 30 gallon limit) for $0.53/ gallon yesterday. I had $1 in grocery store fuel rewards to bring it down that low -- I rarely spend enough in a month to get the max reward but this last month I bought several gift cards with bonus fuel points.

Thanks to Nicole's JCPenney reminder (yes Nicole, you are a bad influence :) a couple warm sweaters for $9.98 each, long sleeved tee for $5.99 and pair of light colored twill slacks for $20. And a cross-body purse from TJMaxx for $20. New Year's resolution: cut down on spending. Unless it's a really, really good deal, of course. :)

Tackykat, I wish the 2' tree could be plugged in. Those batteries don't last long. Unfortunately, the 3' would have been too tall where I used it.

I got 8 lb. box oranges (from Spain) for $2.97 at local discount grocer.

Gave half a dozen, about a third, to my landlord: when he asked the price, I told him that there wasn't any. Some to son, as well.

A day or so after purchase, one was going bad at one end ... but I used the other - I'm taking iron pills and need to have orange juice along with.

(Looks like I'd better keep an eye on them there oranges).

My son found a Christmas sweater for my daughter at Walmart for 2$. She always wanted a ugly Christmas sweater. LOL Looks like a fireplace with 3 tiny stockings hanging off the mantel.

Yep - need to keep an eye on the remainder of the oranges: another was showing signs of rot at one end.

When I removed the deteriorated peel, the flesh was still edible, so it went down red lane along with the next scheduled iron pill.

I bought several ugly Christmas sweaters ranging in price from $7 to $16 for next year. I bought everyone in my immediate family one at Thanksgiving this year and they helped pick out some for next year because they loved them so much.

I found Christmas picture frames on clearance for $6. Every year we frame a family picture or snapshot from the year and add it to the collection.

Dd found a party dress she loved for $99 the other day. I told her to wait because it would go on sale. We bought it today in another city for $56. Not waiting any longer because that style would be sold out. Found another dress for $14... originally $60.

Dawn - I ran out of resin and needed to order more for jewelry making. It ranges in price from $30 to $50 for 8 ounces each of resin and hardener.

is that something that would work to fill in a gap in the 'arm' of the frames to my glasses? I don't know what happened to it (other than I've dropped them numerous times over the years), but there's a split (piece missing) on the thinner section of one before the curve over the ear. I love those frames and want to fix them somehow if I can.

I posted a few days ago asking about the resin as a fix, but haven't see it appear here.
