Master Bdrm & Bath - Need help choosing wall color w/cherry furniture

Hi! Any suggestions for a wall color to work with SW Alabaster Trim and cherry furniture and gold bathroom hardware (shower door)? No current bedding - probably just go with a white comforter. Two small windows that face north and east. Replacing carpet next. I spoke with a SW rep and they suggested SW Front Porch 7651. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

I like color in my bedroom - that is just personal preference and my choices are not in the more modern gray tones. I might have that same bedroom furniture - and I have gold trim in my bathroom:) My bedroom is light blue and the bathroom walls are a white with a gray undertone - goes with the tile.

I think lots of colors are possible. If you prefer some of the more modern "grays" SW Sea Salt has a green / blue cast to it that could be pretty in the room.

The Front Porch is pretty neutral gray - it should work if you like gray.

IMO, the cabs and furniture need to coordinate, but not necessarily match. For example, we have white perimeter cabinets in the kitchen with merlot colored hood & island. Kitchen is open to family room with 2 built-ins in a slightly off white color. Cubbies are just around the corner from kitchen and can be seen through the doorway--they are also slightly off white. There is enough distance between the whites that you don't notice they don't match--they just coordinate. Our master bedroom furniture has a mahogany finish with antiqued gold pulls, the master bath has espresso vanities with antique pewter pulls and you can see from one room into the other. Again, they are just far enough apart that you really don't notice the difference & they coordinate. Stained furniture can be coordinated with painted vanities/cabinets & vice versa. Unless you're planning something totally outlandish, I think you'll be just fine. Hope this helps!

I'm in California where I use Dunn Edwards paints, so the names won't be of much help, but I have a soft blue throughout most of my house that's about halfway between a baby blue and a "spa" or robins-egg blue, and pretty close to the color of really, really faded jeans. It's called Sidewalk Chalk, if that helps. It's a little lighter than the Yarmouth Blue shown in that beautiful bathroom pic. My LR has lots of morning sunshine and the color looks great all day. Your color combination sounds very pretty! The spa blue + chocolate color combination might look dated very quickly, so I think your instincts are right to go for something neither spa blue nor baby blue, but more sophisticated. Pictures would definitely help us to provide suggestions.. and I have to admit, I really am curious as to what a natural vine canopy bed is. You can start with unfinished furniture but I haven't been all that impressed with what I've seen at our local store. I'd strongly recommend watching craig's list and local consignment shops for something with nice lines. Chances are you will find a nicer piece for less money. Good luck!

My bedroom is Valspar Blue Mist. My husband painted his new office SW Soar which is close to the Blue Mist. I painted some foam board to use to look for stuff for my husbands office and realized it was very close to our bedroom:) He wanted something soothing for his patients - he is a doctor. I have been in so many gray offices that I think his blue is really pretty - and he has gotten many compliments.

Hi That is great that your husband painted his office a soothing blue. I painted my L shape liv/din room BM Blue Ice, very relaxing.

I love gray/ greens with cherry but I like my bedding to drive my color scheme so why not find bedding you love with a bit of color in it to use to bring the whole space together.

Hi - Such pretty pics. I do think that a nice green/gray paint color might be a good choice. I hear green and red neutralize each other. I am looking for the right balance and not having anyone thing stick out. My two constants are cherry furniture and SW alabaster trim. Thanks!
