Can you clarify for me, what colour is the wall paint? Blue? Grey? Can you give us the brand and colour code?

Also, are you sticking with your current shower curtain or is that subject to change?

I love those encaustic choices, but I wonder if the pattern might be too big for what looks like a small space. Some of those tiles, it takes 4 tiles square to get the pattern. If I assume that the size of the tile might be similar to the squares in your current linoleum, then you'll maybe only have one full pattern of the tile visible in a row and maybe 4 or 5 complete patterns in total on the floor. I don't know if they make smaller versions of the same tiles, so that you could benefit from more pattern in your space, or that might make it look very busy, depending on the tile.

The wall has sherwin williams misty on it. Its technically gray but comes off with a blue tint to it. I plan on changing the shower curtain, rugs, and cabinet knobs if needed. They do make smaller patterns. That is a good point!

I would go with LVT wood looking. Easy to install, less mess, water prove.

I love the encaustic tiles so I would go with those. I went with a different design for my bathrooms but I look longingly at bathrooms done with those. I think Beth H did her bathrooms with those and they look fabulous.

I don't care for fake or real wood in a bathroom.

Ceramic and porcelain would have the same temperature. Porcelain is stronger than ceramic and less prone to chipping. It's generally considered to be an upgrade from ceramic but of course that's a complete generality since there are very expensive ceramic tiles and relatively inexpensive porcelain. I used ceramic tiles for the walls of my bathroom and they were certainly pricey enough - $45 per square foot as I recall.

Thanks for the feedback. What do you think about black/white tiles with this vanity that is a deep brown? Will it look odd? Should I go more gray or beige in terms of the tile? Also, do you think I should go for a smaller or larger pattern?

I would actually start a thread asking Beth H specifically for advice. She seems to be the tile maven on this floor and her suggestions are always fabulous and she isn't wedded to a particular style. I am almost certain her own bathroom was done with the encaustic type of style. She also posts regularly on the "Let's Share Some Positivity and Progress Thread' on the Design Dilemma Forum.

Of those two you've shown, I like the upper one.

What do you think about this shower curtain? It might be really sweet in your space and pick up the colours from your floor choices.

This is from Simon's website, which is a Canadian department store. They've got quite a few grey/white and black/white colours. Have a scroll through and see what works. Remember is Canadian pricing so with the exchange rate, you are getting a better price than what is listed.

Thank you for the comments. I do like option 3. I'm not sure what direction I will go for the shower curtain or rugs, but I don't plan on keeping any of what we currently have.

Oh yes, Beth's bathroom is gorgeous and she has patterned tile, on the wall for sure, maybe on the floor too. She's the one to ask for sure.
