Need help deciding kitchen/dining layout

Hello everyone!

Our family just purchased a cottage and are trying to decide on the kitchen layout before we begin the renovation work.

Using 3D design software we've narrowed it down to two different layouts and are hoping to get some feedback before making a final decision.

I'm attaching photos showing how the space currently looks and 3D pics of what we're considering.

One option keeps the current kitchen configuration but replaces the seating next to the kitchen with a small round dining table with four chairs and a larger ten-person dining table directly in front.

The second option extends the lower kitchen cabinets across the back of the wall and a large island centred to the more extended ten-person dining table.

Please note that both options include new paint (white) for the walls, new trim, a built-in serving bar/cabinets beside the larger dining table and possibly new floors. The popcorn ceiling will also be removed, and some pot lights added. The furniture in the 3D images do not accurately depict what we're going to use but were the closest thing we could find in the software we're using.

We have a large family and require seating and room to gather for up to 12 people at a time. Your opinion or other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Cheers
