I need advice on mother of the groom dresses
Comments (22)I believe I have the arms for a sleeveless dress, so that's not an issue. I have been looking at Lord & Taylor, Macy's and Nordstrom. The two dresses I posted are from Nordstrom. Both are Kay Unger, so they're essentially the same dress, one sleeveless and one with the 3/4 sleeve. I did go into one special occasion dress shop in the area, but their selection of knee length dresses was very limited and what they did have was a little dressier than what I want. If I'm going to spend a little more on a dress, I am looking for something I will wear again. I plan to dress up this navy blue by adding some sparkle with jewelry and shoes. The woman at Nordstrom who was helping me suggested shoes in a pewter color. I never thought I'd agonize this much over my dress selection. No one is even going to be looking at me that day! Comments (46)Well I'm done with the first part. I don't want to say too much in case someone from the firm reads this forum. But I could have definitely gone casual -- I was immediately shown to a conference room and given the test. The only employee I saw was a guy wearing a t shirt and cargo shorts who met me at the door and handed me the test and collected it at the end. And the test was surprisingly hard given the level of position I applied for so who knows if there will even be an interview. Oh well -- even if it nothing comes of it, it was definitely an interesting way to dip my toes in the job market....See MoreWould you wear this dress to a funeral?

She's much better now but the incident made me think ahead to possible funeral preparations. I work from home and generally dress very casually. I have a few very dressy dresses which I know are not funeral appropriate. If I had to attend acquaintance's funeral I could probably get away with my usual black cropped pants and a blazer but for DH's family I know I will need a conservative dress. I'll keep looking but I'll probably order the dress because I think it is cute....See MoreFashion designers you used to love and wear...
Comments (47)I did buy one label. My BF in junior high and I went to Mervyn's so we could buy genuine Sonny and Cher labeled outfits. I bought the pants in the picture. But was a petite little hard belly and I rocked them with the mating halter style tummy tickler they came with. The low cut hip hugger pants and top were bright yellow daisy print. The eyelet was white with a bright hot pink/fuchsia velvet ribbon at the knee. The top had the same eyelet at the bottom with the ribbon. Wish I still had the outfit . It would be worth something today. My friend bought a more conservative outfit in turquoise. It was in a poorboy (vertical ribs) knit with large bells and a babydoll top. The pic is not me. I was a lot smaller than that girl. I just found the pic on the net to show the pants....See Morelittlebug zone 5 Missouri
