Furniture arrangement in a 15'8" x 25'10" Living and Dining room
Comments (3)The room is 15’8” wide and you need to be able to pull back dining chairs about 3’ all round for unobstructed mobility. So, If you subtract 6’ from 15’8” you are left with 9’8”….long way around saying “yes” a 9’ table would fit. To what are the sliders going? Yard, deck? And what is that 3056 space on the dining wall? In rooms short of wall space, I think two sliders may be a bad choice. Depending on what your answer is to the 3056 space, I would put the slider there; and two windows where you have the sliders. But that is just my opinion and I never put the t v in the living room. Back to your furniture arrangement and your plan, would this work? Dining area has one slider; sofa area has the other slider with sofa back to dining area, facing the wall on which you want the t v. Aslo consider a curved sofa, instead of the typical three seater. This sofa is from Wayfair. I think the ottomans come with it. You could use the ottomans with the corner chairs you want. Lots of seating for a smaller area….. sorry…my mistake the ottomans are not included…why do they show them, then, in the photo? Grrrrrrr...See MoreAdvice arranging furniture and items in the living room in condo
Comments (3)Have you considered a back to back sofa arrangement? Float your two sofas back to back in the center of the room so each has a similar sized area in front of it. Give each of them a coffee table. Maybe that small clover leaf table can serve as one. They usually arrive 1" above or below the sofa seat. Try the demi-lune one in your foyer. Put your hi-boy desk in the center of the back wall and hang a knock out piece of art above it. Flank it with a pair of chairs, each with its own table and a new lamp. Your floor lamp is a bit small and the table lamp too tall. Move your bar stools to a bar area, perhaps in the kitchen. Add one more chair to the foyer end of the space. Comments (13)Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I had no idea this was a craftsman, so I appreciate you sharing this info! I will check out the Houzz ideabooks. I was able to take some measurements, and included a photo. Any suggestions on where the sofa would look best? If I did the sofa and two chairs, where would the chairs go? @jck910 thank you for talking me out of rushing to the store! I know I likely wouldn't have been happy with the purchase since I still don't have a good vision for the space @apple_pie_order There is a large screened in porch on the other side of the window with the white covering (see attached photo). The porch is the front of our house. The previous owners had green cloth-like drapes over the screens to block out the wind (we will remove those once the snow melts). @decoenthusiaste I've been told the hardwoods under the carpet are in good shape so I definitely plan to rip out the carpet. Unfortunately my husband likes the carpet, so I may have to wait a few years before he'll let me take it out. There are original hardwoods upstairs in a few of the bedrooms and it looks beautiful!! Thanks for the tips on the paint color! You guys are amazing! I'm so thankful for your advice. I really had no idea what to do with this space, but I'm starting to get a few ideas thanks to your help. Any other suggestions are welcomed!...See MoreHow to arrange living room furniture in open living room?
Comments (26)Marie13100, I mentioned in the beginning we are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and we needed to move the dining table into our living room temporarily and cover everything from the dust. Lynn G, you’re right. Having to look at the wall would be a bit depressing. The most recent floor plan I posted that had the sectional along the window and long wall would be perfect because we can view directly outside the patio door which is in the dining room....See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
