Greige is the question.. Need houzz help with paint color..
Comments (13)Geige is an incredibly broad term. It is like saying green. Lime Green or Forest Green, Teal or Emerald. Here is a list of a variety of Greige colors by Benjamin Moore Abalone Ashford Greige Ashley Gray Balboa Mist Broxburn Greige Collingwood Edgecomb Gray Gettysburg Gray Mineral Mortar Pale Oak Revere Pewter Shale Go into your local Benjamin Moore dealer and ask for paper samples of all of these colors. Pick a few dozen more that are in the same families. Take your samples outside on a sunny day, lay your flooring, countertop and cabinet samples on a white sheet and lay the paper samples of each of the above colors next to the samples. Note what you like and don't like. If you can find the right color you can always pick something a bit lighter or darker, but getting the rigjht mix of brown and gray and the right undertone is something that you will need to do with your samples. If you can come close and say, I like this a lot, but it seems just a bit too blue we will be able to offer a lot more assistance....See More? On Interior Colors For New Build
Comments (32)wysmama, yes they can but the plum looked like it did not belong with my other choices and neither did green which I thought would look really pretty. We tried a bunch of colors and samples. I was shocked how much it did not go at all. I am disappointed for sure but my husband is not. He never liked the plum. You would think it would look really nice with the countertops but it didn't sadly. I am ok with the color we are looking at now. I will be painting one of my guest bedrooms in Shadow instead. It just wasn't meant to be....even my interior designer said the plum looks odd with the choices. Everything happens for a reason.....I am not losing sleep over it because you know I also love the color blue, It's too bad so many others are liking it now too. I hate going with trends but funny enough I wanted it as my island in my former home 4 years ago but we knew we were selling so I went with a neutral-cherry....See Moreaccent wall paint question
Comments (9)They’re both lovely and either would look nice. I prefer the Silvermist, but that’s just my opinion, not a right or wrong thing. Comments (16)Any opinions on white ceilings vs same wall colored ceilings? We also have 10’ ceilings everywhere. Functionally: If you use top grade (not "ceiling" paint) white paint on the ceilings, you can change wall color a couple times within 5-8 years without having to paint the ceiling too. If you do walls/ceiling same color, you paint the ceiling every time you change wall color. Last, white reflects more light. Aesthetically: There isn't a right answer. It comes down to personal preference. I myself prefer a white ceiling above my head. YMMV....See MoreK. G.
