Where to stop backsplash

I can't give a photo of the exact kitchen, but it's the same basic layout as this Houzz picture.

Like the picture, we have a U-shaped kitchen. On the right-hand side of the U, there is an overhand for seating. The upper cabinet to the right of the stove ends about where this one in the picture ends.

We are going to run the backsplash up to the bottom of the upper cabinets like in this picture. I've seen it all different ways: stopping splash where cabinet ends, stopping somewhere in between, and stopping at the end of the counter overhang. In this picture they continued the splash to the right and it looks like they ended at the overhang. This is what the tile pro suggested, but I'm not sure I like it. I'm leaning towards ending it where the cabinet ends and then putting a nice piece of art on the wall.

Which option generally looks best?
