Otherwise, you might check with a guidance counselor at your college to see if they might know of some sort of program that matches seniors with college students for a work/residence exchange. There are plenty of seniors that want to stay in their homes, but are willing to rent a room in exchange for cheap rent and simple chore assistance. It might work out very well for both of you. This is the most important time of your life to get a good education and you will go nuts if you cannot sleep. Don't let these other losers destroy one of your few chances to make a better life for yourself. If you don't do it now, you won't have the energy when you get older. Buy a steno pad and document everything that goes on. Day, time, who's making the noise, what person/manager you complained to, etc. Don't worry about being evicted. Go ahead and go to court. Any judge will be completely sympathetic to your need to get out of your lease because of unimaginable noise that completely prevents you from being able to study. How else do you think they became a judge? Good luck and hang in there....See Morebang bang bang
Comments (11)brutuses: Thanks, thats why we are going to put it up just to see if we can live with it.As you say we will be the ones that will know, but on the other hand, if it really looks off it is not worth spending money on a fixture that will be obviously off centre. I am not sure at this point if by adding the wooden framework around the mirror will give us an inch more play. This mirror and vanity are right in the corner of the room about 1/4 inch from the corner wall which also means getting the framework milled special. bluekitobsessed: As I mentioned we did not want this to be a major job, just some fresh paint and new fixture.Doing as you suggested would indeed mean taking out drywall and patching, something we are not prepared for the sake of a light fixture. Our Interior designer has already discussed this with an electrician and more or less said the same as you, that it would involve taking out drywall and there was no easy quick fix. Also not sure if your suggestion would be up to code in Canada, but i do appreciate your suggestion Parma42, We had our home custom built 15 years ago and had a good builder. At the time those bar lights were the standard thing, and we did substitute fixtures in other places. We always thought that these bathroom fixtures would not be a problem and they are not in the other two bathrooms. When we have decorated before it never involved the fixture. We have had 4 brand new homes built and you never know what you will find when you go to paint, wallpaper or do other work at a later date. Hubby hurt his back, and so we have not put up the fixture to see how it looks. Keep yor fingers crossed!...See Moreloud bang then leak after turning on main water
Comments (0)Hello new to this forum but what brought me here is I had question about something that happened recently. There was a small leak in the front lawn and so I shut the main water off and called a company to come out and take a look they fixed the leak then turned the main water back on. They opened a faucet and watched it for a while and said everythings all good and left. I went upstairs to use the bathroom then after I flushed there was a loud bang and I'm sure the wall and toilet shook a little and then the toilet starting leaking on the right side where the tank attaches to the base and bowl. I shut the water off to the toilet cleaned everything up. Turned the water to the toilet back on and everything is fine no leak or nothing. My concern is what was that loud bang that shook the wall and toilet and why did my toilet leak but now it does not? And could that bang and leak cause any damage that I should have someone inspect or check it out? I was reading around on google and saw that after turning the main water back on you're supposed to open all the faucets one at a time until all pressure is out. They did not do that so could that have caused the loud bang and leak after I flushed the toilet?...See Morewashing machine making a loud banging noise
