Check out local (i..e in state) manufacturers. The national manufacturers are going to be higher price.

22K? gimme a break. is it metal or all wood? can any of that window be salvaged w/new wood parts? new glass panels/glazing? can you call a local window person (not a big company) and see what they can do?

those Ply Gem windows look very close . are those metal? if so, that's going to cost. i'd still check w/a local window company.

I was able to rescue my bow window that had panes similar to yours by replacing the glass and using something (don't know what) to reinforce the rotted wood. Do check with a local glass company before you leap to a total replacement.

The existing window appears to be dimensional lumber with direct-set plate glass held in by quarter round or jamb stops. This was a very common "picture" window in my area. My house still has a couple.

The expense comes in not from recreating a large picture window with divided lites in that shape (which would be expensive enough as custom divided lites), but these aren't really divided lites so much as each window is a mullion (not a muntin or lite) with a deep embrasure on the inside. (Mine were 2x4s). I am assuming that is where the expense comes in.

In England (I get this from watching "Grand Designs" etc.) They would be able to provide you with direct set triple glazed or insulated panes to be set onsite, but that's a commercial thing here.

It may be less expensive to have a carpenter site build the exact window as it was originally, but then you have no insulating qualities or ventilation from that one. I have replaced most of my windows like that with the configurations originally intended in 1965 and I have to say the difference in temperature and sound control is great with the modern windows.

Would this "Anderson" rep happen to be Renewal by Anderson? I wouldn't believe anything from them even if they told me the sky is blue. Please keep looking for an actual glass company, because your window is beautiful!

Do you have a picture of what you chose to replace yours with or a window type I could look up? It would be nice to at least reference the era of the Home with the window choice.

My house is completely different from yours and my architect (well the architect of the house 53 years ago) spec'd metal casement windows with horizontal muntins only. I could not afford steel windows so I went with wood clad.

Here is one of them getting installed. It is actually nearly floor to ceiling so it's bigger than it looks. The existing had been constructed like yours with a vertical piece up the middle and fixed plate glass (I guess to sort of look like a casement).

I don't know that it will be much help to you since the style is so different than what you need.

They are WeatherShield. I also considered Marvin and may do that for the sliding swinging patio doors in the same style.

Check with Marvin. Custom but you get what you want.

Even though the windows like yours (and mine) are an odd construction there is something handsome about the deep embrasure around each pane, which is something that makes them different than a typical divided light.

I went with what I did because it's what the architect originally wanted but if he had wanted the windows like yours I am not sure what I would have done for replacements.

The seals are broken on 6 windows and the wood frame is soft, I was told to replace the window (so, so sad).

If the soft spots aren't too, too far advanced, you can use one of the epoxy systems like 'Rot Fix' to restore the wood and replace the leaking insulating glass units (IG units). Probably be a lower cost option if you can DIY. A bit time-consuming but pretty easy repair.

I wonder if a custom cabinet maker could offer some suggestions. When you get right down to it, isn't the window just glass inside frames? Isn't that what glass front cabinets are? It might be worth a shot to ask a customer cabinet maker if they could replicate.

I think the glass is more of the issue. Trying to replace it with something with some insulating qualities and where to source that as a homeowner or residential contractor...
