Angelantix, what did you end up going with in your bedroom/bath? I am in the same predicament now and have looked at all your colors. I'm thinking of weekend getaway for the bedroom and looking for a bathroom color, would love to do beach glass but not sure it will coordinate. Now I'm thinking I should do a neutral in the bedroom and a blue or green in the bathroom. Would love to know how it turned out and if anyone has suggestions for a neutral bedroom color. Our trim is cream and my bedding has I guess like a rust'ish color with green and teal and a little gold in it. thanks in advance, any advice would be helpful! Karen

I feel for you- our bedrooms are somewhat odd in that they can only be arranged in certain ways, due to doors, windows, etc. It almost feels like the room dictates what you have to do with it :( I've made a point of just working with the most practical layout. How much "closet stuff" do you have? Clothes and other items that you would want to store in an enclosure. I have to agree with annkh_nd that you would just be moving the storage around with the bed in the closet. It also looks like by moving the bed into the closet you lose your nightstands? Could you put a dresser or other chest of drawers in one side of the closet? Then hang short stuff over the drawer unit in the closet, longer stuff on the other side? How about a small storage unit of some kind on either side of the door off the foot of the bed? Would you have enough room at the foot of the bed if you were to put other pieces there? How about storage under the bed? Either in a platform that has drawers/cabinets in it, or in the form of under bed boxes? When DH and I lived in a small rental unit, we ended up putting our full sized bed against one of the walls. I didn't mind sleeping between DH and the wall, and generally got up after he did at that time. If I got up earlier, I would just go off the foot of the bed. Personally, I'd prefer the bed against the wall, to only having a narrow foot or so on the side that felt like a chasm.

Hi Cp, I just happened to check out the decorating forum and saw your thread. I just learned last night how to use Paint. Now I cannot stop! I played with a WAY out of the box idea. I am sure it is a no-go as it might effect the ceilings below in the living room. I know you plan those gorgeous built ins next to the fireplace. I will post it anyways though. I owe you big time for helping me on my cabin plan, but somehow I don't think THIS one counts as returning the favor. LOL! It is a little crazy, but I was trying to figure out how to use the wasted space in the long hallway by stairs. I was thinking, what about a T-shaped staircase where at the landing the stairs split. The one side goes into the bedroom and the other to your art studio. You could do a second door by the elavator hallway to get to the bathroom. It would give plenty space for the murphy bed anyways. ;-)

Is this room a blank slate? Or do you have any furniture/rugs/window treatments/etc. that you are going to use? Here are some boho chic rooms for inspiration. You'll note that many of them are painted white, with color and pattern in textiles and art. Keep in mind that when you decorate a room, the wall color is only one piece of the puzzle. It needs to work with everything else you choose to have in the room. Plan it out before you buy that can of paint!
