Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See MoreHelp-bathroom mirrors, can I hang them off center?
Comments (8)I'm afraid I agree with GreenDesigns. They are wonderful, but you will ruin your bathroom's design integrity if you use them in the wrong place, and I think that is the wrong place. Your bath mirrors must hang centered on your sinks, or the composition will drive you crazy, not to mention having to stand to the side to get your face centered in the mirror. And they are much too powerful in design to work flanked by two more, unless you just mirrored the whole wall. Then you could hang one in the middle on top of it. Surely you can find good places for both of them? Do you have a fireplace with equal space on both sides of the chimney breast, for instance? They'd look great hung over a pair of bookcases that were, say, 3' tall and 4' wide. Or on the end walls of your dining room, to hang them opposite each other on those walls? if you use the short walls, the distance between them will minimize that eternity thing that happens when mirrors are hung opposite each other. Or hang one upstairs and one down, if you have an upstairs....See MoreTwo mirrors too much in this bathroom?
Comments (48)Did you pick a sink yet? I got a kohler impressions(?) sink for my 24" vanity. It's integrated white cast iron. It has a surprising amount of counter space for a 24" vanity top. Nice cute circular sink depression. You can't store anything on it permanently except a soap dispenser, but there is enough room for the little plastic basket I got at bed bath and beyond. Otherwise you can put the plastic basket on the toilet seat. I put a washcloth down to keep from scratching the toilet seat. Mine is painted wood and it does not like water splashed on it either. Make sure your vanity will support the weight of your countertop/sink....See MoreBathroom mirror vanity light swap or switch out mirror/light entirely?
Comments (2)Here is your dilemma. if you take down those fixtures there will be two holes in the mirror, that being said, they will be up high and most likely off center. So, to get new lighting that is not stuck in the corners, and covers the holes behind it, might be next to impossible unless you run a thick bar that covers the space. But some times back in the day they only drug wire over and did not put in actual junction boxes, so the bringing it to code might be another issue. 1. take one of the lights down and see what is going on 2. probably have to replace the mirror and move the electrical location....See Moredcustode
