Comments (4)If I had to have a knocker with this sort of door, I'd mount it on a post adjacent to the door. If it were my door I'd forget the knocker or change the door. Good luck on your project!...See MoreInstalling a door where there was none.
Comments (3)if you already have threshold material, i'd say frame one of those in and live on! A door sweep might be necessary after the fact, but, that's no biggie....See MoreGarage door only opens with key pad, but remotes work (the other door)
Comments (1)To get out of vacation mode, press & hold that vacation button for about 3-5 seconds. When you release it, the light should not flash anymore. Your vacation mode disables everything. If you are mixing Genie w/ craftsman products, that wall button might not come out of vacation mode until proper button is installed. A plain doorbell button with no led light will work okay in a pinch. The key being, "No Light". That s when you'll have troubles with a non Genie brand. Overhead Door wants you to have to buy their products so this is done on purpose. (their garage door sections "mate" join together in a stair step design that is different from other Companies, forcing customers to either call OHD or buy an adapter rail to modify) Smart business but pain in the rear for the customer....See MoreOpen layout for master suite?
Comments (16)Our previous place had an open plan like that (with toilet in the closet of course) We kinda loved it, DH and I we did. To a degree that when we gut remodeled and added-we repeated the idea It helped the master too, which was largely my consideration-I'd have a room that's too long too dark and too "flat" otherwise. I did want more light. So having open plan helped with that. Moisture and heat-not a problem where we live(coastal So Cal) Odors..not a problem. Sounds. They do travel. They'd travel with additional door too. We sold our previous place-the open plan was never mentioned as a problem. Folks were much more interested whether the pool gets noisy. And in other stuff. all the community had same open plan-and it's a very sought after community. "cause others are worse. Lol. Believe me I checked when we were house hunting. We have no plan at all to sell this place-but if comes to that, I foresee no problem. I felt in love with this house when it was much less functional. Somebody else will too-and they can install the door if they wish. We overhauled the whole house. Well it was kinda a fixer upper. But with a very nice landscaping, and where we wanted it to be. Installing a door is easier I believe. In short. Each family and their priorities. Obviously all the cons above are valid. But they can be less cons where you live or personally for you. One can have all sorts of considerations. The idea to build in a way that allows for a door later is especially nice. I don't know whether I'd go open in your space-because In our case I knew I had such and such limitations to get light and dimension in the master. Maybe you don't have them.. Maybe your ceilings are higher. Maybe you live differently and other things bother you. I dislike fully open concept in the living spaces at this stage of my life, much more than in master suite. That'd be more of a dealbreaker. I know many people love it-well I don't. (Given of course I have a luxury to choose at all. )...See MoreMichelle M
