I've been trying for over an hour and a half, and can't even log in to Amazon! I've tried using my desk top computer and my iPhone but no luck so far.

I thought it was just me, sooz, and it was kind of a sign; each time I tried to log in I saw that "oops" (or whatever it was) and had to go back to main page to try again.

I just logged in now, and it seems okay.

Just tried again--and actually could sign in with my PW, but when I went shopping and put something in the Search box, I got the message "something went wrong on our end" and by now, with all the continuing screens that tell me something went wrong on their end, I've seen ALL the dogs of Amazon! lol

The car wash ate my car antenna...the tiny nubby one, grrr. I can only get HOT97 80's top ten hits. (at least I know all the words, haha)

I was in the Apple Store for a new phone. All the employees were enjoying the dogs as well.

They said on the news that Amazon had a big crash.

Last year I did spend an hour looking, and ended up with 25% off on a $20 tablet stand for work. I didn't even bother this year. This is all about the fireworks and marching bands.

Last year during Prime Day, I got my Instant Pot for $59 (regularly $99). My daughter was considering one and I let her borrow mine for a few weeks. That turned into a couple of months, because she loved it so much. I finally had to insist on getting it back. Got an email from Savuer with mention of a few Prime deals and the Instant Pot was again at $59. I logged in this morning before finding out about the Instant Pot and did some "regular" shopping. But later, I kept getting the cute dogs and the "Oops!" But a bit later I tried again and snagged the Instant Pot for her. She was ecstatic.

I don't know if it's all about fireworks and marching bands, plllog, LOL!

Understand that our family motto is "We work hard to live below our means" LOL! Or as my mom would say as I grumbled about clipping coupons "If you saw a dollar bill on the sidewalk, would you bend over?":)

I received a $10 off for $10 spent at Whole Foods (shopping there anyway). I may just end up getting another tried and true little Wusthof paring knife for $9.95. Although, I have this in my cart now: Mercer Culinary Millennia 10-Inch Wide Bread Knife for 13.59. I also review fakespot on that one because it has such great reviews it seemed a bit unbelievable.

I too had the $10 to spend from my Whole Food shopping and I struggled to buy SOMETHING! I didn't find the deals attractive. I already own an Echo & a Dot & an Instant Pot. So I bought my friend the IP cookbook that I already own because that was discounted. I added some plantain chips at regular price and called it a day.

Compumom: Which cookbook do you have? My daughter is wanting one.

Darn it. I didn't even think of cookbooks, Compumom. That would've been quite a rabbit hole for me:) I didn't see too many deals (you know, like the ones on our new holiday "Black Friday") but I'll be happy with my free knife.

:::snicker::: "New Holiday" ROTFL! Then there's "Spring Black Friday" and "Black Friday in July"! No one ever thinks anymore that "black Friday" was the name given by salesclerks overwhelmed with ruder and more insistent than usual shoppers hopped up on expectations of monetary enticements and pumpkin pie for breakfast, all while the clerks themselves get no holiday.

I did go to Whole Foods, but I can't bring myself to having Amazon tracking my groceries, so opted out of the Prime thing. They have way more info on me than is optimal anyway. :) The upside is that if I keep searching for something, they'll get it for me. :)

So sad what they're doing to Whole Foods, though. Sad, sad, sad....

Could not agree more, compumom, about the recipes included with IP and directions. It is somewhat amazing to me how users got together on IP facebook page and worked through learning curves together.

These are the books I currently have out, lizbeth-gardener LOL! I actually have read the one the compumom referenced and there is another one by Coco Morantes that you can read reviews on amazon. A few downsides to some of these recipes are a) they're all over the map regarding times and b) so complex/convoluted in an effort to be unique that they defeat the purpose of being "instant" when I need them to be. I actually made mashed potatoes from the Instant Pot Obsession; I normally IP potatoes for 4 minutes then add butter, milk etc. Great mashed potatoes. I read in this cookbook to IP with butter/milk all at once (KNOWING, just KNOWING that this didn't sound right) and ended up with great mashed potatoes but scorched pot (that you can see on the WFD thread cause I like to share my failures:) I probably didn't help you, lg, but perhaps give your daughter the one compumom referenced and also have her look at some reliable websites too:) Lorna Sass is really good from library -- she uses stovetop so different psi (may need to add time for IP), but explains stuff and her recipes are spot on.

plllog -- yep, everyone's tracking everything anymore. If Jeff wants to send emails trying to entice me to buy more dried pinto beans, he's more than welcome LOL! I have become exceedingly aware and more immune to the commercialization of every "holiday" (ie sales event, ie who knew back to school was the next holiday after the Fourth?:)

I snagged the Instant Pot for my daughter for an Xmas present. Prime Members also got 25% off Instant Pot accessories so I got a couple of extra gaskets and got her the glass lid which is great when using the slow cook feature. Also grabbed a FitBit Alta HR and a Fire tablet I will be donating for a charity auction. Got them all in the first hour then gave up. LOL

Extra gaskets, moosemac, perfect! I actually have two -- one for sweet (applesauce, cranberry, desserts, etc.) and one for mains (think curry:)

BTW, I love your idea of a purchase with the intent to donate!!!!!!! and will keep this in mind moving forward. I don't need anything, but last Black Friday I was able to send my friend with serious health problems a "healing thoughts" blanket (a fluffy blanket covered with comforting thoughts/words). She LOVED the gift, but really loved getting a surprise package in the mail! Used my prime for it.

Another question for anyone. Did any of you have a manual PC before the IP and if so, what are the advantages of one over the other?

I had two sizes of manual PCs. I much prefer my IP. But I know others who prefer their manuals. This site has a bit of a comparison that might help you decide which is best for you.
