Anyone participating in Amazon's Prime Day tomorrow?
Comments (31)We try to buy made in the USA Cindy, but don't always succeed - of course. Quite simply, I do not care for Walmart. I'm sure there are stores/businesses you don't care for. I'm sure there are bad things about Amazon. Lukki. I didn't see that show. My brother actually works at Amazon and is quite happy there. I like that I can search for what I want, research the item if need be, and quite often come up with a very good price - and then have it delivered. We have prime and while I rarely order something that I need in 2 days, I do like the quick delivery. I will say that the very few (maybe 2) times I've needed to return something, customer service was excellent. Still, I'm sure there is a downside. Amazon reviews are a good thing in my book and sometimes I'll even read the reviews there even if I'm purchasing the item elsewhere....See MoreSo...How Did Amazon Prime Deals Treat You?
Comments (13)I was quite a bit disappointed in the whole affair, and wrote so in the other thread. The online comments and twittersphere seem to agree. However, it was a huge revenue day for Amazon, so I'm guessing they were pleased. We bought some stuff that we needed and that was at a decent price -- small discounts and items already in our queue. They upped their check out offer for prime -- by waiting four days for shipments you get a $5 credit that's good for select merchandise, not just downloads. Various things like a walnut cutting board, yoga mats, underwear, kind bars, and USB cables will be arriving over the next week. Nothing major. The best part of the hype was the fact that other sites responded with coupons and sales. The best was Zwilling (owner of kitchenware lines like Demeyere, Henckels, Miyabi, Staub, etc). They have some excellent clear deals on their US site, well below retail. Valid through tomorrow....See MoreSo does anyone here have an Instant Pot?
Comments (10)I have one. Don't let the part about 10-40 minutes put you off. I haven't had it take anything longer than 10 or 12. I am not an Instant Pot zealot and in general I hate gadgets, but I still find it useful. We are vegetarian so don't use it for slow cooking or pressure-cooking meats, which is one of the most popular uses. I use mine regularly for hard boiled eggs because they pop out of their shells effortlessly every single time. Also for mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, soups, mac and cheese, and cooking up large batches of kale or other greens without stinking up the house. One of the advantages of the Instant Pot is that it isn't releasing steam the whole time your food is cooking. If your kitchen tends to heat up or you don't like kitchen smells filling your house, it helps with those things. My friend who IS an Instant Pot zealot uses hers for almost every meal. I use mine about twice a week....See MoreInstant Pot on Amazon Prime Day
Comments (19)Foodonastump, I got an email from Best Buy today that included the instant pot at $99. While I was looking at it, the Amazon app showed the comparison for Amazon's price was still at $79. Would be work a look if it was something you wanted. And I suspect it and the Echos will be back for Black Friday or pre-black Friday sales if it is something you can wait a couple of months for....See Moretinam61
