HELP - NEED PAINTING ADVICE - New built in cabinet in living room
Comments (5)What is the color of the cabinet (it's hard to tell in your photo)? I painted my living room Classic Silver from Behr paints. It's a beautiful, medium colored silvery gray that looks great with about every color. You could look on Behr's website or any other paint website, and virtually paint a living room. That should give you an idea how the color would work but I also recommend buying paint samples first before buying enough paint to paint the room. It will save you frustration, time, and money. Before choosing the Classic Silver, I purchased two other gray paint samples along with the Classic Silver, painted large enough sections on my living room wall, looked at the paint colors for a few days before making my choice. I made sure the color worked well on sunny and cloudy days....See MoreNeed Ideas for a Bland Living Room!
Comments (0)We got married and moved in together about 6 months ago. We've been having fun decorating and setting up our home, however Living Room has been the toughest challenge for us so far 😄. I'm thinking of getting curtains for it, but I don't think that's totally going to fix the problem!! we could get a large art price for the long blank wall but I feel it's still going to be bla.... across from the living room is our kitchen, in an open plan kinda concept with a low wall sperating them so I don't want to do anything that won't link kitchen. Even though there are plenty of windows I want to have a really bring and inviting room. I was considering painting the fireplace wall a off white, or doing some bring wallpaper and getting some plants for the matel. Just was looking for ideas and suggestions!! Something about the room just makes me grumpy every time I see it!! 😄...See MoreHow to layout living room when it's also a guest room? I need advice!!
Comments (3)I would use the den as TV area with TV between the built-in bookcases. Then do a back-to-back arrangement with two sofas (they don't have to match) and a rolling sofa table between them. The one in the den would be the guest bed. When you have guests, simply roll the sofa table under a window and close the sliding door. As an office, place a desk facing the window if you need good light for online conferences, or put it on the wall if you don't do that. A rolling desk chair can move out of the way for the sofa to be opened. In the living room side, use a round dining table in the corner right of the fireplace. A coffee table 12-18" from the sofa and perhaps a pair of small scale upholstered armchairs in an "L" with the sofa, their backs to the window. Art, not TV, above the mantel....See MoreNeed advice on how to change this living room/other room around.
Comments (10)I have a living room with three double door ways and a large fireplace flanked by full windows so no walls at all to put furniture against. My sofa has to float infront of the dining room entry and had to be apartment scale aswell. I use easy chairs instead of a lovr seat and put a coordinating small sofa in my abutting sunroom that has served as a playroom and now a music room for kids. Originaly I had a large pottery barn slip covered sofa that I loved and tried to make work but it was not made for older homes like ours. properly sized furniture changed how my home functioned so much! I think starting with new furniture might help....See MoreUser
