In the meantime, perhaps you could start looking up living rooms with charcoal gray sectionals on Houzz and get some ideas about how other people use color in conjunction with that choice.

IMO if you want follow up help changing your user name to something that can be found again would be a good start for here. As for color get some new art with some color you can then use for accents. I have a gray, white and black house but we collect art and that is where my color comes from.

H/u, I find this example really interesting. The designer has used a quiet colour, peacerul green, but in a BIG way, and then picked it up just a bit with the plants, and balanced it with a blue chair that disappears more into the background as it's not particularly bright and is considerably darker than the painting. I also like that the dull gold of the light fitting (near neutral) is echoed in the painting -- or the other way around. It may not suit your room, but all ideas are grist to the mill, I hope.

Why do you feel the need to inject color? There is nothing wrong with neutrals, it looks classic and sophisticated. And I would never suggest adding random colors just for the sake of adding color. Only bring in what makes sense. I have a neutral house, it's not monochromatic, but it's neutrals, and the "colors" that i choose to go in it are on the expanded list of "neutrals". Example: I consider animal prints a neutral. Colors I consider neutral: dark olive green, espresso brown, black, gold, creams, grays, My house does not have any of what people call "pops of color" which I'm totally against, that concept makes no sense to me. But my house is far from boring or lacking in "color". It sounds like all you need to do is get out of all grays. That is boring and will not look good.

If you like the monochromatic look and you feel like your room is "off" you need to add more texture. Pillows, chunky rugs, wall hangings, etc. A mono room without different textures often looks flat and unfinished.

I think "need to inject color" in the OP's statement means that she wants to inject colour -- not that she fears the decor police will come around and punish her if she doesn't have colour.

I agree, H/u, that if you do not yourself want colour in your home, don't put it there. But if you do, there is so much to learn and enjoy about how to use it.
