What color are your painted white or off-white/creamy cabinets?
Comments (11)Kat - Thanks for the compliment. Our perimeter counters are soapstone and the island is marble. The marble still makes me nervous and I continue to etch it (which is not highly visible on the honed surface, but I still know they are there). The inset cabinets were an absolute must for us. We did tear down construction in an older neighborhood and wanted to have some elements of the 1920s-1940s style consistent with the neighborhood. With the kitchen being visible from the front door, it needed to be both pretty and fairly authentic. Sure, I lost a little storage space by doing the inset, but the look is exactly what we needed....See MoreI'm having a hard time picking cabinet colors
Comments (4)I'm also nervous about the fact that the pantry wall and island would be the same color and the rest of the kitchen would be white. Usually, just the island is a different color. Anyone have opinions on this?...See MoreHelp..having a hard time choosing a paint color!
Comments (3)Last year, we finished building our new custom home. Initially, we were going to have a custom paint palette and have a variety of colors throughout our home. However, due to budget constraints, we decided to choose just one wall color and one trim color for the whole house for the time being. Then, we will go back and chose custom paint colors, room by room, later as we have time and money. Since my husband is a builder of custom homes, he took me to see a ton of different homes that were near completion so I could see the different color palettes in person. It was much easier for me to do this than trying to chose paint colors by pictures on a monitor or by paint chips. We ended up going with SW Relaxed Khaki for our wall color and SW Antique White for the trim...and it looks amazing!! The Relaxed Khaki goes with almost anything imaginable and the Antique White is such a yummy, creamy color! The only thing I possibly would change if I had it to do over again is I would consider using SW Universal Khaki, which is just one shade darker. We have a TON of natural light so the Relaxed Khaki is a much lighter color in our house than it was in the home we visited. However, I am still extremely pleased with it. If you are looking for a beige/khaki color, especially one with a slight hint of a green undertone, this would be a great color for you. Comments (47)This is a photo of the three pendants that will be hanging over the 12 foot island. They are bigger than they look in the photo. The chandelier for the dining room. The entry light. This one is up for debate. However, it really is beautiful. I might refinish it to make it more bronze. I have added a link to t My kitchen inspiration pic is attached. I am using white cabs and a stained island. However, the layout and ceiling will be the same. There will be no fireplace, just a wall of windows. So, thoughts?
