Paint Exterior Design Dilemma

Need color advicd

I want to be rid of the pinkish tan trim. I've searched through existing threads and I'm not seeing anyone else with the same shade of brick for reference. What we have is yellowish, orangish with dark brown almost black blobs. Painting the brick is not an option. I'm at a loss as to what color to do on the trim and the balusters, and the side of the house that isn't brick. I'm having gutters installed in a couple of weeks and was hoping to at least get the trim painted prior to install. I'm thinking black, but I could be way off here.

What color are you planing to paint the siding? If you live in a sunny hot region, I would not do black on the siding. A light cream would be better for the siding and the underside of the eaves. A dark warm gray (or brown) for the trim and the railings. I would take the shutters off. They are not the right size and look a little busy. Get dark gutters to match.

Are you sure the "spots" are inherent in the brick? It almost appears that someone attempted to customize them. Since only the front is bricked, suggest you try to remove one spot using a solvent. No success, then try a grinder...gently.

I had a similar situation in my kitchen with a dark golden brown countertop and a Silgranit sink. I went with the Cafe Brown color even though nothing else in my kitchen was brown and the trim was all white because the sink blended with the counters better. I love it. I think you'd be really happy with the black for that reason. Also, my dark sink really does hide stains, discoloration, etc. I almost fear ever returning to a white sink!

Hi, Take a drive around town and if you see something you like, take a picture and copy it. Colors fit more in the area you live in. Desert colors don't go well in Pacific Northwest. Just a little experience. Good Luck Woodbutcher

I'm fairly sure they are, but I will certainly give some solvent a shot. Looks like dirty paw prints everywhere. Not cute!

I like the idea of an off white cream color for the side. It's what I keep coming back to, but its hard to picture. I keep wondering if it would be too stark, but I think I'm just used to seeing that ugly tan. I hesitate to remove the fake shutters only because I see other homes in the area that have and they look super drab and monochromatic. However, with cream and dark trim, I think that could solve that issue. Thank you both!
