Help me choose paint color for my kitchen
Comments (7)I'm Jan_in_Wisconsin, and I'm happy to know that my kitchen is liked by others. It was a challenge in putting it all together, for sure. I just wanted to say that the SW Flowerpot does look slightly more brickish red in real life. I agree with the other poster that since your cabinets, countertop, and backsplash are on the lighter side, that a deeper wall color might be more striking. Comments (13)I wish we could have a phone conversation instead of typing. During the last 30 years I have gutted-to-the-studs 6 kitchens...and learned so many things during the process. A Certified Kitchen Designer who is working on your behalf (one who does not sell cabinets) will be of immeasurable value. Ask for references from cabinet maker shops to a CKD who will come and take measurements and at least come up with a simple layout which can be tweaked. Looking at your existing layout I can see several "errors" which would not have happened using a CKD. Ask Hubby to give you the present of a consultation instead of a birthday / anniversary gift. A new kitchen is costly, it's even more expensive if mistakes are made which could have been avoided. Good luck....See MoreHelp choosing kitchen sink! Torn btwn cast iron and granite composite.
Comments (35)I always install Kohler cast iron when I can. I love that creamy, satiny look and never clean with more than BKF. I have never seen a Kohler finish wear out, not saying you could not do it. I have hated every stainless sink I have ever had. That said, the Elkay is gorgeous. As to bowls, I went to a single in this last reno and LOVE it. I keep a small white silicone mat by the sink for draining those items I do not instantly dry. I keep a pop-up dishpan tucked under the sink for that rare occasion I might need to soak and drain at the same time. I have needed it twice in 2+ years. My only regret is I installed a 33” and didn’t need it. I could have gone with a 30” or prob even a 27” and saved precious cabinet space. The Kohler Whitehaven bowl is huge....See MorePlease help choose counters/backsplash/paint 4 woodsy cottage kitchen
Comments (25)Thank you all so much. I'm going to look at lighting, and counters that work with my mat white range. I've gotten a lot of useful ideas and resourses.. The Kylie Interior Blog is so full of information! Truthfully I am always changing my colors via pillows and throws. My husband teases me about my textile addiction. Although I have a lot of fixed items (pine floors, maple cabinets, rock fireplace, husband made cedar furniture, and now a mat white range, I'm hoping to put together a backdrop that is flexible enough to allow me to change up my colors. I love monochromatic (try doing that with yellow/cream/wicher/camel) but around the corner in my living room that color has to work too and I got a whole lot of other stuff going on there. LOL . HU is right. I am not cottage or cabin in the kitchen. I'm hoping now for something neutral that i can play with....See MoreElle
