TV for Bedroom that will be on a night stand in the corner
Comments (17)Hi Steve, I do love the TV (great sound, picture as nice as my analogue TV downstairs with only regular cable ... both could use digital cable for a clearer picture, wonderful remote, very pretty TV but so SHINY the black that I can see my reflection... wish my TV stand was wider and taller) but I do not like the pedestal look on my Night Stand (2.5" on each side hangs and to me is distracting in the pretty bedroom) and I am seriously thinking of taking it back (but upset that the sneaky salesman has on the slip that LCD's are not returnable when he made me sign the screen without reading anything and then the person came to bring it to my car and I was very sick and when I asked to see the slip before signing, he said it was everything we discussed) and buying the 26" white Sharp LCD that swivels that was only $30 less for so much less screen with only the added swivel feature... but is in white and will not overpower the bedroom I feel. I just would have to order it from Target.com and have to pay about $26 in shipping to me and then back (UPS $26 around the sales guy said who I spoke to online at Target.com today) if I do not like the off-white color that has some gray in it. It has wonderful reviews but the Toshiba had better reviews and the reviewers are right about the sound quality on the Toshiba... it is very nice and I love the TV but it is TOO black for my bedroom and too big to me. I was sick all day and now not sure what to do. It is a beautiful TV but really stands out in my white room and I wish I could just put it in the family room an buy a white TV for my bedroom that is smaller despite the smaller picture. But my TV in my family room is only about 7 years old (Black Hitachi.. 27" that cost me $199 and looks nice to me.. heavy but not as heavy as my 14.5 year old 25" Samsung TV was). Maybe I can negotiate a deal on the extended and the 26"... I sure wish PC Richards would have the Sharp TV in white. Maybe I can ask if the can order it that way for me?...See MoreQuestion about duvet covers
Comments (21)I've used duvets and duvet covers for 45 years and have never needed ties. Or clips. I suppose they might be useful, but? I'm European. We use duvet covers as top sheets and wash with all sheets and pillow cases. Frequently. I have to ask, are your US duvets and covers the right size? How do you make the bed? Honestly, all I do is insert the duvet into the cover match the corners and shake. It does help to have the cover inside-out for the insertion. To make the bed, I air the bed by folding the duvet back and/or toss most of it out the window to fluff (weather permitting.) Then I match the bottom corners again (only an inch or two drift) and shake again vigorously. It just seems to fall into place onto the bed. Twin duvets are easiest, but I can do this on my own with a king. Fluff pillows (we don't do decorative pillows or top sheets in my house). Place duvet back on bed and smooth. So easy. I don't want to sound argumentative or mean, but I just do not "get" decorative pillows. I'm function over form.:-)...See MoreHow do you get your duvet cover to stay in place?
Comments (21)I have ties on the corners of my duvet, but no loops on the comforter, so I just bunch up the corner of the comforter a little and tie around the corner. You can do the same just by sewing shoestrings or the like to all four corners. Make sure you choose a tie that you can easily undo and redo many times, that's why I like the idea of using a shoestring. Sewing loops onto the comforter would be more work, but if you're so inclined I say go for it....See MoreNeed curtains and duvet cover
Comments (17)Thanks everyone! I have 3 duvets coming and when they arrive I will take pictures and do a poll. I think I will keep my current curtains, line and hem them myself, and use that money towards adding other features to the room, maybe a cute upholstered bench or armchair to bring in color and help fill the space? I'll ask more about that once the duvet is finalized. And thanks @lynartist for all the pics of how grommet curtains should look. I never even realized that my curtains were messy, but now I can't unsee it ha ha ha....See MoreMolly Sundar
