We can't visualize a house from a picture of a front door...Google Cape Cod house and see what you get. Cape Cods are one story in the front...not two stories.

White is too bright and not very cheerful. I recommend BM Hawthorne Yellow HC-4 with very dark green shutters BM Black Forest Green HC-187 / PM-12 the door might be BM Heritage Red HC-181 (or Caliente AF-290) semi-gloss

I'm sure whatever you decide it will be bright and crisp.

Have you Googled "traditional cape cod paint colors"?

There's tons of sources and illustrations. Just be careful to separate the authentic traditional colors from the "Color of the Year" trendy stuff...

I think you are missing the opportunity to have an eye catching home by going with white house and white trim..

I agree, white would be a poor choice. It would look ordinary and hide the classical detailing.

As for the white color to pick - I think you'll find a bright white is too white when outside. Otherwise most paint manufactures have one called Bright White or something very close to it. Realize that where you live, the surroundings, the light etc. will be influencing how the color looks too.

Or just drive around until you see something you like and ring the doorbell and ask what the color is. I gave my house color out until too many popped up in the neighborhood.

You need to sample the two whites together to make sure they work.

I've read a lot of people with white kitchen cabinets are upset when the white trim in the room looks too yellow next to the cabinets.

Best way to pick a color would be to get samples pots of the colors and paint them on different sides of the house to see what works best with the kind of light you have.

SW Alabaster is a nice white that may or may not work where you would be located. It seems to be very neutral in my house, but not a super bright white, but satisfies my need for a bright white.

A white colonial house with white trim and black/green shutters is a classic. It will never be out of style.

The BM visualizer is called the Personal Color Viewer. At the end of the options, select "Exterior", then select body or trim, etc. then select Historical Colors from the pull-down menu, then click in a general range in the little multi-color band below the pull-down menu, then pick a color. Its best to have some known color codes from your paint store to type in to give you a real world reference.
