Foyer and Hallway Eye Candy!
Comments (32)What a cute way to add color to a hallway! HOW TO: Put your fabric in the hoop. Pull tight. Glue overhanging fabric to edge of inner ring, trim. How simple is that? This shows the finished backside . . . Full directions here: http://www.purlbee.com/swatch-portraits/ On a similar note, this is framed scrap book paper. Comments (7)It doesn't look like you have room for furniture. And mirrors are not right for your space. I agree - get a great runner, and add large, dramatic pieces of art, strategically placed. I don't like the reflection of the pendant lights on the textured walls - think about how the light will shine and reflect as you buy new fixtures....See MoreHallway/ Foyer setup. Need help!?
Comments (9)How does the front door relate to the area in question? Is there a coat closet anywhere near the entry? Do you love the mirrored wall? Are you a serious fan of big clocks or just afraid of making a mistake with art? Looks like the end chairs at the dining table will fall off the rug if pulled out and sat in; rug should be 36-42" larger than the table top all around but not run into baseboards. Have you tried it in the foyer? I'm not a fan of round rugs but you might get a larger version of the same rug for the dining room, use that one in the hallway and make the entire space feel more unified. That would be especially important to do if you'd like to have a big buffet there; the two spaces would seem more like one dining room, which could work better for you....See MoreUse same color paint for foyer, hallway and family room?
Comments (8)I took a couple inspiration photos from your idea books to pull some colors together. I would lean to hues in these basic tones and they are on the warm side. Lighting is key in all spaces, so consider multi layers of lighting for great looks. So see what appeals to you most and then a neutral wall color can be found that works with your intended palette. If you can find a sofa or painting or even a rug you love. That can provide direction to set your color palette....See Moremjd232
