Please help with my floor plan
Comments (4)I probably wouldn't swap the bedroom with living room. After all, you mostly use the bedroom to sleep, and you want it dark then. I also think it would be weird to have company walk in past your bed into your living space AND it would be weird to have the bed next to the kitchen....See MorePlease help with paint colors for an open floor plan!
Comments (6)There's another thread about design seeds which is a website that takes lovely photos and uses them to inspire color schemes. In the thread linked below, I suggest ways in which you can use a palette to create rooms that all coordinate and flow without being all one color. You might want to take a look at that. You've got a lot of beautiful rooms to work with. Pretty generally, the best place to change a color, if not at a doorway, is at an inside corner...though if you have a good painter, you can break it at outside corners too. Comments (1)Can anyone see this besides me (the OP)? I can only get to this thread via my own account -- it does not appear in the KITCHENS forum....See MoreNeed help with floor plan for main floor renovation
Comments (5)You are right there is not enogh space for an island but IMO not all kitchens need an island and some of the most functional kitchens are galley type layouts . If you go into the DR space at all the DR then becomes too small to function as a DR maybe think the other direction into the breakfast space since in a small house the need for 2 eating spaces is really not nessessary IMO. Iwould probably do an elongated U shap and then have the wall on the LR side all true pulloy pantries for storage eliminating the need for upper cabinets on that window wall with the range and hood between the windows for proper venting too If you post some pics of the exterior that will help with mud room ideas . I think I need a budget too....See More
