I'll narrow your choice by saying don't buy Newport Brass. I used NB faucets and fixtures for 2 of my bathrooms three years ago and I've had issues with many of them. Many of the set screws will not stay in place and every few weeks I have to go around with a hex key and tighten stuff up. Never had another brand do this.

Look up some old threads with others who were also not happy with their NB products the last few years. They do look pretty though!

The idea of the matte black with gold would be a bold statement. Something I might do, if you feel it would be "too much" brass, i'd play it safe and go with the brushed stainless look.

Gotta say both options sound fun. Either black or gold would be a showstopper. Love your cabinets and hardware. Funny to stumble on this thread as I’m about 2 months behind you on this very same kinundrem. Hope to see pics of your finished decisions :))

You have enough going on IMO with the brass cabinet hardware and brass lighting, and the two tone cabinetry. I would stick with a brushed nickel or chrome for the sink faucet to pull from the stainless appliances and stainless steel sink. Part of decorating is knowing when enough is enough and knowing when to stop introducing more things into a single space because then nothing stands out, everything just starts getting lost in the chaos.

IMO black and gold have no real place in that kitchen I wouls stick with stainless and let the brass pieces be the star. I would however get a more interesting faucet that those choices.I think the Karbon from Kohler is a show stopper and the articulation actually makes sense the others make no sense .

Another vote for black with gold accents! The black will be there either way, given the design of the faucet. It'll mostly disappear on your nearly black island, allowing the gold accents to stand out. Great way to bring it all together!

Vote for brushed stainless. KISS principle at work.

What about polished nickle? I assume those other colors you chose were warm? Polished nickel is warm too....but if that option does not exist, then I vote stainless.

We like the idea of doing a matte black since there are lots of element of gold already.

Funny how folks think more brass is "too much", but when people do their entire kitchen in something black/dark or brushed nickel, everyone thinks it's just fine. Hmmm...

I'd go for the black & brass or all brass one myself. But then I actually LIKE brass!

I think we are just not accustomed to the shift in trend from brushed nickel to other finishes. Black, aged gold, brass are all coming on strong in the market. It took me a while to warm up to the brass look but after seeing it in some model homes, I really have embraced it. I think we will see more and more of it. Also, "blush" is coming on more and more. Been seeing that trend develop for about a year and a half now. Not strong pink but just hints of pinks. But I believe more and more stronger colors are in our future, assuring us that grays are officially out!! Couldn't have come faster for me!
