Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)

Our granite has movement over the whole surface...no big veins just lots of tiny details. We were originally going to use some accent tiles but they tile people recommended to keep the focus on the granite and not to compete with it. You don;t need your eye to be draw to two different things right next to each other. We went with a beige 3x6, to go with the toasted almond cabs and greyish counter.

RICH - your kitchen is gorgeous! Im sitting here agonizing over tiles to use for backsplash and floor - saw yours, and sent them off to our tile guy! I never would have picked the flooring, but seeing it in your kitchen - I just LOVE it!! We also have a dark green granite countertop, our cabinets are almost identical in design - except just a shade lighter. Is slate more expensive than porcelin tiles? We are rapidly going over budget and want to try to save a little......

well it's very small so that was all the point..to find something really small. For a really small powder room. Found on Craigslist; it's both handmade and vintage..had to tweak a bit since it didn't had anything to hasten it to the wall, had to paint too since was rusty.. the pic taken upon moving it; now has towel, basket, soap dish, art..blahblah all the useful and just-because-I-like-it-jazz The house is Spanish ranch some best vanities I saw here were repurposed vintage dressers and consoles..if it matches your style and your house's style, you can look into this option I hope they(the users I'm talkng about) see the post and show their wonderful vanities I also like my master bath vanity but that was custom made to fill the much much bigger space and looks more ordinary..I do love the colors though, and the marble remnant we used for a countertop..it was supercheap since a remnant. It's all shades of gray plus golden rust veining as main colors. (the paint is much warmer than it seems. oh well) I feel it's a lot what surrounds it too our hall bath-the vanity is new but craigslisted..nothing to write home about but I found one with two open shelves rather being a single heavier looking piece, to keep more light look (it's a smaller bath..37' vanity..had to add tons of storage but in indiscreet way)..found right bins to go there..3, for family and one, for guests..I change the name tag each time we have a new guest, write his/her name..:) (asked my daughter to cut out cute tags) (if I don't want tags to be seen I just turn a bin. lol)
