Lighting Design Dilemma entry

Same Style chandelier in the Stair tower and foyer

We are building a home and it will have a tall stair tower on the right side of home and a foyer entrance similar in height. Both entrances have lots of windows to display the chandeliers. Would it be okay to use two separate and unique chandeliers of the same material?

So those chandeliers aren't to my taste, but if you want a unique showstopper piece, it needs to be limited to one. putting in two unique pieces that close together will put them in competition with one another. All that will do is create a busy look. So I would do one simple understated one, and one eye-catching one.

They would be in two separate areas of the house. Only seen from the outside of the home at night through windows at the same time.

Have you looked at Hubbardton Forge's large chandeliers? They have beautiful lighting in the craftsman/transitional style. They are pricey but not the style number or name and you can often find sales at lampsplus.com and other online lighting retailers. My dining room chandelier is from VF. Shakuff: You are right about the top of the door; door is 98" tall and 123" wide; there is 46" of height to play above top of the door. I still like the idea of the dish like pendant chandelier as in my rendering however I know my DW will have the last word on it. :) The transom window is high and offers limited visibility from outside unless the lighting is tall, since we have a large porte-cochère outside the entry.

Yeah, it was admittedly kind of tough to find examples of foyers with large-scale lights repeating down the length of the room. Nevertheless, especially with the very "airy" look of the chandelier you have in mind and how far away each of them will be from one another, I think you should be OK to use two to make a big statement!

I love that you are painting the walls white and your chandelier works, but I agree that having more furniture in the house could help determine if you want to change direction a bit on the chandelier. there are so many different styles that could work, depending on the direction you want to take the overall look and feel of the house... heres a few different styles and directions. I might also suggest, depending on the height of your foyer that you could feasibly go a bit bigger on the chandelier, maybe a bit wider and possibly longer

I’d go with a style that resembles what you already have - if you must have a second very unique and showy chandelier.
