Hey breezy! You and me both! LOL I had a different rainhead when we remodeled Mbath at previous house. It was also large and I loved it! Though when I washed my hair, I sometimes used DH's. ( I have very thick hair) We are probably still a month away of being in. The latests setback was the stair color. I told the GC I wanted kind of pecan colored to match my floor. Some how I ended up with BURGANDY! So, they were stripped and sanded and now 2 1/2 weeks later since starting the staining, they are the correct color. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out! Omg, lol, engineerchic! I was thinking as I read your post that I had the same thing happen to me with Kohler, then read it was even the same line! I loved that stacked thermostatic valve set though. My very experienced plumber was completely confused by the diagrams in the instructions. Seems to install it for a normal arrangement of single handheld shower head and tub spout is not what they intended! After several days with no shower due to this stupid valve issue we returned it all and got a Price Pfister set locally that looks just as nice and was about $1,100 less. So much for splurging on good fixtures, we saved enough for all the "extras" that went in the room outside the fixtures! And looking back, the most entertaining part was the confused look on the plumbing guys at HD when I insisted they reassure me all the valves that are needed for the rough in are included in the box. That was all separate, and very expensive, with the Bancroft line. They were completely taken aback that you can even buy a trim kit without a rough in valve, but I assured them that yes, that was absolutely possible, and I had done just that. They thought I was nuts.

My 40 year old tub WAS pristine till I lost my grip on the hammer during the remodel. So I now have a decent sized chip on the outside of the tub. I just tried (just as in I did this yesterday) to use Krylon paint. First I used some torn masking tape to isolate the area in a less linear way, then used a few layers of primer to bring it up to the level of the porcelain. Then removed the one taping, sanded lightly, and taped again, similarly but a bit wider area and sprayed three layers of Krylon gloss white. So far it LOOKS very nice (the chip was about the size of a silver dollar) and I have "cleaned" it and it isn't budging. I won't be ready to use the tub for another month, but again my ding was outside the used area, so I think it will be fine. . .Since it seems to have worked, I have a sink given me by someone re-doing their bathroom. It is exactly the same as my current sink except less wear and tear. SO I am going to take it out to the shop (not installed yet) and try this on the sink. I'll let you all know how it goes. Just a note, after reading a few other forums about the companies that refinish bathtubs, I am less than convinced it is a good idea. Those that "just" had it done seemed pleased, but those who had it done five years or more ago, didn't think it was so great. The reasons varied and included color shifts and peeling/chipping off.
