Comments (9)Benny...I've said it before, and I'll say it again...your citrus need to be in a book! Your pictures are an inspiration to all.But of course the love of citrus, and the loving hands that tend these makes you a diffenatly an artist in your own right. Please keep the pictures coming because it up-lifts the spirits of us who wish.***Suzanne...See MoreHow is everyones container citrus doing? Comments (17)Hi laura... Man that is a huge bummer! Everyone else..WOW Let me start by saying to laura that you will probably get a much quicker response if you start a new thread right here on the citrus forum. Like ask.."ANTS, WHAT TO DO IN MY CONTAINERS, HELP!!" There is a member here that is unbeleiably smart baout insects and how to control them, and she has helped a many here! Post it as soon as possible, before those stupid ants present new insects, such as APIDS, or SCALE anda host of other problems to your trees..ok Watch how fast that member will help you. That is a great question, and many ways to rid them, but her advice always works..:-) Now, as for my pics,I will be posting as soon as I get time. We had several more days of cool and rain, and to tell you the truth, my trees never looked so good..lol Think we have had 20 out of 25 days days of cold and rain..sheesh..The coldest and cloudiest and wettest June on record! My trees love ot though. Thank God they are in Al's gritty mix, or they might of all died of rot. Take care, and keep the beautiful pictures coming everyone..Awsome!:-)...See MoreMore pics I took in my yard today (Christine)
Comments (11)Marcia---Yes, those banana plants are mine. Here is a picture I posted last July showing my newly planted 2 dozen blueberries. The bananas are behind them. The pummelo tree is to the left. Anna---I do feel so lucky to have my 2 acres. I just love to be out working in my yard. Sometimes I stay out there all day. coffeemom---I almost forgot to mention, you got me laughing! My husband isn't into gardening, but he will do the heavy work that I am not physically able to do myself. I leave the tree dropping to him. As for my powers, my powers are that he says that he benefits from the veggie garden. He will eat the vegetables but he won't eat any fruit except the oranges and pineapples. I would like to say peaches but the squirrels get them first. Tom---That's not my back yard--it's my front yard, near the street. My house is located toward the back of the property. My yard is designed backwards. I don't mind because it does help with privacy. Tom, I would love to trade cuttings. I can root the poinsettia for you first before mailing it. I realize that the plumeria doesn't need to be rooted first. Today I got some tree dahlia cuttings that I potted up. If you are interested in one of those, I can include that too. The mother plant I saw was 5-6 feet tall. It is a background plant for sure. Christine...See MoreCitrus problem pictures and pesticide question.
Comments (4)It looks like your trees are in ground? They look pretty healthy, I wouldn't worry too much if they're in ground. Yes, neem is a good organic pesticide, just make sure you don't spray it during the day or when temps are going to get over 90 degrees. The oil can burn the leaves at higher temps. Spray it at dusk for prevention or when you notice bugs. Not sure where you are in the world but all you will need is a citrus fertilizer, don't use the same type of fertilizer you'd use on your vegetables. Citrus need more nitrogen than veggies. Vigoro makes a citrus & avacado fert that is decent, I use Arizonas best citrus food because I'm in the desert and that's what works best in my soils and climate. What zone/ state/ area are you in? Knowing that will help us suggest the right fertilizer for your specific conditions. Evan...See Moresocalnolympia
