Was just reading this elsewhere we loved his show. How sad.

Shocking. So sad.

Gee whiz. What a week.

I'm going to miss him. I enjoyed his books and loved following his travels and narratives. He was too young to die.

Had no idea until this post. I'm usually not overly affected by 'celebrity' deaths, but feel shocked and sad and didn't really put him in the 'celebrity' category. I so enjoyed watching his shows and loved his story telling. Only 61. That's far too young.

I'm also sad, but not surprised. He'd made a statement some time about about his "unhappy soul". (sigh) I don't watch much TV, although I have seen him occasionally, but enjoyed his writing very much. He was a wordsmith, probably a gift from his mother who was a copy editor (or something similar) for the New York Times.

It's alarming that two famous suicides in just a few days, and a day ago, there are reports of suicide rate has gone up 30%.

I have met and chatted with A.B.,, eaten in his restaurants many times. Sad!

Anthony Bourdain, an incredible talent, who considered himself an 'average Joe.' Imagine that.

My heart is broken. I will miss his honesty, humor, the sound of his voice and his penchant for storytelling. R.I.P.

So, so, sorry and sad. For his family, for his fans, and for every family with a loved one fighting this insidious disease that feels more vulnerable today. And there are a lot that courageously fight daily, the desolate umbrella of "I have no hope."

How was he found "dead in his bed" when news reports say he hanged himself?

Was absolutely shocked to see this on the news this morning! Loved traveling the world with him! (Through his shows)

So dreadful for his friends and especially his young daughter.

So sad. I really enjoyed his shows. I had never heard of him until Sol ...hi Sol !!!.......sent more his book in one of our "swaps" . I thoroughly enjoyed the sad and followed him after that.

Don't know if anyone remembers but a few years back there were a series of really funny commercials of him telling his Mom that his show was being renewed. It was clear they were very close. I keep thinking of her and how devastated she must be.

He lived life so large. I'm sad he ended himself. RIP Anthony Bourdain.

A few hours ago, went with a few friends to Le Halles (NYC) to see if it's still open for lunch.

My first thought was "how sad and how wonderful". Second thought was if groups of people randomly but regularly did things like that while the person was still living, would they still be alive, knowing how much they meant to and influenced the lives of so many? Possibly not. I have a hard time comprehending what must be in someone's mind to go through with the finality of suicide.
