IE 7? I downloaded the beta version on my home computer months ago. I like it, but it is different enough to take some time to look through all of the controls. Sammy, Microsoft is the company that produces operating systems and tools (as well as game systems) for use on computers. Other than their game systems, Microsoft does not manufacture computers of their own (unlike Apple). An "operating system" is the software that runs the computer, no operating system, no running computer. There are many different operating systems, some are used for PCs some are used for large-scale servers. Windows is an operating system that is produced by Microsoft and Windows runs on many different makes and models of computer (Apple uses its own operating system on their computers). "Vista" is the next version of the Windows operating system, XP is the promary current version (you will see a banner with the version when you turn on the computer and it is booting up). Internet Explorer is a tool that runs on Windows that provides browsing capabilities. You can use IE to browse files inside of your computer or to access remote files, which is what you do when you "browse" the internet. Microsoft, unfortunately, likes to cram a lot of stuff into their upgrades, without really explaining how they work and how to configure. Sorry, sometimes I get all geeky. ;-) I do wish they would just take your current settings and incorporate them into the new version of IE when it is installed. Things are tricky enough with differences in internet providers (Cox Cable in your case), PC capacities, user preferences and home networking options (a few years ago this one didn't exist) to make things more difficult.

I have an insert that was already in place when I bought my home 10 years ago. There were never any doors on it that I can tell, just sliding mess screens. I live in east Texas and only use it about 1-2 months off and on throughout the year. I want to install a set of doors for only two reasons. One, I have a new 5 ton heat pump and after the fire dies out the return sucks the ash out into the room. Two, after the fire dies I like the added security that an ember wont pop out onto the floor. I currently have another tri-fold screen that sits on the hearth. My question is this: Is there a real problem using a door kit for a masonry fireplace on a prefab insert? I have searched the web over and other than manufacturers stating "masonry only" I cannot find a real reason. Custom doors would be around $1000, a simple flush-mount masonry unit is about $240 at Lowes. If I am able to mount it and it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye wouldnt it essentially be the same as having a set of tri-folding glass doors that sit on the hearth? Now I wouldnt go and do this without having already looked at the product and not having put thought into it. I do some home remodeling on the side and the task would not be hard at all. Please give me some input. Another thing, I would not be opperating the fire with the doors closed, just close them after the fire is out. Thanks Brian

I can't see the photos....when I made quilted stockings I simply drew my stocking size and used 2 pieces of quilt , one for the front and one for the back, and cut out my front and back pieces. put them right sides together and sew around the edge sides and bottom. I made a cuff the right size to fit the top... sewed it on and turned the whole thing right side out. I embroidered the cuff with their names and edged it with red lace I knitted. I thought the quilted fabric itself was sufficiently strong and didn't bother lining it (I used old pieces of a 'cutter quilt' but you could use newly quilted pieces).

Here's a suggested list of some of the items that should be maintained on your computer and some suggestions for added security. Basic maintenance and basic security work together to keep your system performance at its peak. Like your vehicle, a computer is a complex item that needs routine maintenance and basic security to keep it running and free from problems. Keeping a clean and maintained machine makes for a smoother operating computer. It may sound like a lot to do, but breaking it down and doing some occasionally should make it simple. Plus, if you start off on the right track you'll save headaches down the road. It's difficult to say how often these items should be completed. Your computer is different from others and your use is different, so your time frame may differ and that's fine. This is intended to give some ideas of the types of things that should be done. Add/delete/modify as needed. The point is to establish a routine on a regular basis. First, some of the basics: For the most part, these items need to be done only once. (Should be done immediately when getting a new machine) Rename user account disable guest account & password other accounts Install a firewall Install an antivirus program Install a spyware/malware remover Install a spyware blocker Install a trojan detector Install a registry guard Install a program to edit your startup programs Uninstall preloaded programs that you won't use Secure browser & email client settings Setup "popup" control or install popup blocker Customize settings for all installed programs Check for current versions/updates on all software, including the Operating System.(OS) Disable "Messenger" unless needed Replace/disable programs that "phone home" Determine how you will back up critical data Install surge protector or UPS Record serial #s, product key #s, model #s & specifications Make (and test) a boot disk Back up drivers and special install disks Clean up the startup programs Perform as needed: Backup vital files on a time frame appropriate for you. If you have a lot of important data that is updated/added frequently you'll need to backup more often than someone who has little critical data. It's also a good idea to change your passwords periodically Items needing attention regularly. Suggested time frame: Weekly to 2x/month Update definitions on any program running in the background, such as a real time virus detection. Run virus check and spyware check (if not done automatically) Clean out junk mail and old email Clean cookies, temp files etc. Empty recycle bin Backup registry/set System Restore point Suggested time frame: Monthly to Quarterly Disk check & Defragment Check for OS updates & patches Suggested time frame: Once or twice a year Clean keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, monitor, vents & case Uninstall (don't just delete folders of) obsolete & unused applications Clean out old downloads and files that are no longer needed. Also check for ~*.*, *.tmp, *.chk, *.old, file0*.* and other similar files Clean inside case (blow out dust, check connections etc), including power supply Check that fans are working Clean out excess startup programs Clean Start Menu Clean & organize files Check hard drive space - should be >20% free space Clean index.dat files Clean out Bookmarks/Favorites Clean out excess graphics files And also, Don't forget to unplug your system and phone/internet connection during thunderstorms!
