Induction cooktop and air purifier?

This will be controversial, but here goes.... After weeks of looking for options to effectively vent our island induction stovetop--upon which we typically boil pasta, steam and saute veggies on medium heat, make sauces, and fry eggs--we were going to put a island hood to vent outside. Our kitchen guy has informed us we can't vent outside because our ceiling rafters run into a beam and so there is no way to vent outside without impacting the integrity of the ceiling/2nd floor stability. No go.

So if we are just going to recirculate with the hood, I wonder why we don't just get an air purifier to place on the island when we cook. We already have a dehumidifier running every day (we live in Florida). Seems like the air purifier idea might also help with the wall oven since the oven is where our stinky food is cooked (fish, brussel sprouts, bacon, etc.). As an aside, it is odd to me that there aren't any good oven venting options on the market as that would be a million times more valuable to us than a cooktop hood. And our oven is on an exterior wall.

Anyway, any thoughts on this? Please don't bother asking us to relocate the cooktop. It is not happening. And yes, we have a KD. :) Also, in our area, venting for induction is not required by code.

Thanks in advance for any considerations about adding an air purifier to the kitchen instead of a recirculating hood.
