LR/DR paint advice needed
Comments (12)I agree that lighting would help. Planning on a new chandalier (just bought the table) and a mirror. I haven't chosen the wallpaper, but was thinking of a navy and white pattern. The colors in the back room are white dove and hale navy. We just painted it, and I'm surprised how much I love the white....See MoreArrgh! Need help deciding on color for LR drapes!
Comments (12)I would go with linen drapes or, as Ashtonchic, above, suggests...something light. AndI would consider replacing your dark rug with something light or in a natural fiber, as well. Your eye is drawn to it and it seems to heavy for the room. I would put the pattern in your side chairs, your pillows, etc. Blue is a wonderful color to use. And when opportunity allows, change out the Venetian blinds for woven bamboo shades. I understand if you don’t want to go to “Florida,” but coastal elegance is a look that is appropriate to your lovely new space....See MoreNeed help picking Color for LR Sofa, Curtains and carpet
Comments (9)I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my living room. Knew the colors I was going to paint, the flooring I was going to put in and the color of he sofa. Then I went sofa shopping. I needed a 3x2 sectional for my living room (large room). I went to several stores that sold higher end furniture - wanted something that would last. One of the stores had a sofa that was the exact size that I wanted sitting in their back room - the person who ordered the sofa refused delivery - didn't care for the color. I got the sofa at 60% off. It is cream colored. I was planning on light walls and a darker gray sofa . . . Since I had not painted the walls yet I could make this purchase with little angst. Had I already painted I would have most likely still purchased the sofa as it was a much better sofa than I could have afforded without the discount and I would have re-painted the walls....See MoreLR space needs help!
Comments (11)Have you tried putting the sofa on an angle in the corner between the 2 windows? Yes, you lose floor space and it’s unusual, but it would probably be a more inviting view into the room than blocking the entryway with a chair. If you put the sofa in the corner, then put the 2 chairs where they would be comfortable for conversation opposite the sofa. If that looks nice, than move the TV to the opposite wall on a fully rotational wall mount so you can comfortably watch from the sofa. Replace the 2 chairs with swivel chairs. For the corner behind the sofa, see irif you can find a fairly tall corner table and put a double-headed lamp on it Since you have a busy street outside, think about getting cellular shades that you can operate top down-top up. that way you can block the bottom half of the window for privacy (and keep glare off the TV) yet still have natural light in the room....See MoreRita / Bring Back Sophie 4 Real
