In that case, no. Remove that awkward corner unit. Why do you want it to jut out awkwardly like that? Is the goal to put in a sharp edge to run into?

A corner cabinet, ideally, should create an angle at the corner -- a straight line from the cabinets that continue on each side.

Get a pencil and a ruler and cut of the corners that extend beyond that straight line. You'll probably need to add a trim board as toe kick to hide the cut so cut off the bottom carefully so you can just reuse the board you cut off the bottom.

The small corner piece needs to be removed. Then push the two larger sections together so that their outside corners touch. That will create a square edge. What you have now looks awful and adding shelves won't fix anything. Look at your picture!

If this is in any room but a closet or laundry the whole idea is wrong. You have really nice crown molding and this cheap shelving detracts. And the color is not right with the trim and ceiling.
