After moving into a new house, I noticed a naked corner in the breakfast space that needed attention. I found the solution in a glass-front corner cabinet that my family has owned for years. It tucked right in and provided just the presence that the semiopen room needed.
With an open-concept floor plan, it can be hard to define boundaries and make each room its own. There were actually several spots in the house where I could have put that particular cabinet. So I modified the cabinet by cutting off the back corners of the cabinet. It took a little doing but now we have a custom piece that fits perfectly in the space, and it's the design we loved! :)
You can't see it very well in the picture but it's a bright red cabinet in the corner under the TV in the dining room
