basement laundry room spruce-up
Comments (8)I saw a great LR redo a few years back in a magazine. To hide the WH, they used corrugated tin stood on its side and curved to stand on its end. That would work well for you. You can finish off the top edge with some HVAC duct/insulation tape (it is a shiny foil color). Then you can use clothes pins to hang artwork on wire on string from the top of the screen. I finally had our electrician put in very very basic tube florescent lighting in my basement, and it is really awesome. I recommend to do that. It was not expensive at all. For clothes drying. I think you could do a chrome clothes rack for hanger clothes, and a chrome "clothes horse" for flat drying. Also make sure to have a outlet in the right spot for the iron so you can have the ironing board there too. Check out Better Homes and Gardens website for lots of ideas on the cabinets and storage. And I think you should pick fun colors that you might not use elsewhere in the house...need to put some pep in the drudgery!...See Morehelp me decide on how to spruce up the living room with curtains

Comments (9)Anything wood would need to complement your large built in. I think adding glass and metal for C-table and side table would add a different texture. Maybe a leather ottoman that will double as coffee table. You could have a Persian rug or ivory/gray shag style rug to define your living room area but it would need to be large enough to anchor the space (under feet of both sofa and love seat). I don't mid your pillows but I think 4 is too matchy-matchy. Can you take a closer up pic of sofa and pillow fabric? What is behind the curtain divider? Rent or own?...See MoreLiving room- sprucing up the space
Comments (37)njmomma hit it right. What is your vision for the room? Family friendly? Guest space? Instead of jumping into purchases you need to have a plan. Furniture etc needs to be scaled to the room size. The bones of the room dictate the style. Is this the only room for the TV? You will always be walking in front of it where it is located now. Also it is too large for the space. If you love the furniture keep the sofa and get rid of the rest. You need a kid friendly room. If you keep the sofa a white console is not right. Also the height of the console needs to be right for the TV placement. The costway TV console is too short...See Moreswaxman
