Help with Pottery Barn fabrics
Comments (15)I agree with the comments, it's a big investment and you need to make sure it's comfortable and durable. I have a sectional with chaise extension, seemed like a great idea when i got it, but i find it awkward to get on and off and the leg support on most models is the same height as the seat, which isn't all that comfy since you end up hyper extending your knee joints. Neither myself or my husband use the chaise part any more. They look great, but next time i'll buy a foot stool so that i can have more flexibility and have my legs slightly lower. An experienced sales person should advise you, but use your good judgement, not everyone is honest. If you prefer to shop online, go to somewhere like allmodern or wayfair where there are many reviews to guide you and you can return the item without any hassle if you need to - also for a small cost you can insure it against poor performance (or make sure your contents insurance or credit card covers the item against unreasonable wear and tear/damage) I use these two sites regularly they have lots of choice and lots of price points to choose from - more money doesn't always mean better quality. - i trust the the reviews. Also make sure your delivery includes bringing the item into the room not just to the curb and don't sign for it until you've made sure it's not damaged and is what you expected. If you're not happy refuse delivery, much easier than trying to return it - the delivery driver will just have to take it back. As a designer, ergonomics consultant and purchaser of lots of furniture I also rely on good warranties and proven product testing - find out how many double rubs the fabric can handle without deteriorating - 25,000 is standard for residential use, higher is better. Good luck with your purchase....See MorePottery Barn Cameron Sofa or Sectional Reviews?
Comments (20)I've had the Cameron Slipcovered square arm sofas (86" with sleeper and 60"). They have held up well and are still comfortable after 6 years (purchased 2016). We have two boys and their neighborhood friends hang out on them. I'm sure a soccer ball has been kicked into them hundreds of times. I chose the Performance Tweed on Slate. I love it. It's gray with a hint of blue and is easy to coordinate with. Very few signs of wear and nothing stains it. My cat peed on it the first week and the cushion batting didn't absorb it and the covers washed beautifully. I've put all of it in the washer numerous times. I even put it in the dryer on low heat and it looks great and doesn't shrink. No issues getting it back on. I do not fluff the pillows or move around cushions like you are supposed to do. The only signs of wear are the saggy back cushions. Expected after 6 years. Might be able to buy filler for them? We purchased them because they were more petite in size, which we needed in our last house. I do want a deeper sofa now but can't find anything that makes me ready to purchase. Although they are shallow seats (20"), my feet touch the ground and it works well if you are seated and taking to someone. My-in-laws and short mom like the upright feel. Not great to cozy up with my kids and watch a movie. I tend to lay on the long one and my husband sits on the short one and likes the height of the arm. It's just wide enough for a remote or phone. I'm considering the C&B Gather and Ethan Allen Spencer (I'm limited in dimensions). C&B has weird fabrics and I'm not sure if the Spencer will be cozy....See Morelooking for real reviews of Pottery Barn Turner Leather soda
Comments (66)I was set on the Turner grand and found one at my PB outlet for $2200. It’s statesville toffee and I love the color. It does scratch easily but I try to be careful and have one end covered with a throw for my dog. The shape/support is still pretty much like new and we still love it. I also have a James recliner in legacy chocolate and that leather is SUPER durable....See MorePottery Barn Jake Sofa vs. Crate & Barrel Gather Petite Wood Base
Comments (33)We bought the C&B Gather sofa plus ottomon in leather last year.. It is the standard depth sofa and we were not able to sit in that poarticular sofa prior to ordining it. We ran into the typical delays due to supply chain issues (7 months). When it was delivered, the delivery guys dropped the sofa in the street and damaged the leather. C&B ordered a replacement (another three months). Both of us hate this sofa! It is very uncomforatable. I am 5'11" and it is too deep to comfortably site upright. The back cushions are not fastened to the sofa in any way so they are constantly slidding down. Even when pushed back, the do not provide good back support. I cannot sit in this sofa more than an hour or so before I get a backache. I wanted a sofa/ottomon combination rather than buying a sectional for the verstility so it really limited my selection of sofas. This was a big mistake. On tiop of that, dealing with C&B sales, customer support and their finance company was a real nightmare that I will never go through again....See Moresitalt
