So frustrated with my citrus...
Comments (12)The plants are in Pro-mix HP mix with some added coarse perlite. As for feeding, since they were grown (from seed) they have been fed with slow release fertilizer, specifically - Lutz citrus tablets. I am absolutely clueless when it comes to all the science of gardening, but just a glance at the nutrient list says each tab contains .05% boron which is a higher level than i notice is in FP (.01%) or osmocote (.015%). They have been on these tabs for 2.5 years with none of these yellowing issues, however at the beginning of spring this year i added on or two more tabs to ea pot (the instructions call for 5 tabs for every inch of girth) and a week or two later fed each tree with a regular dose of Foliage Pro. Right afterwards they showed the yellow tips, which is why i stopped using the FP and haven't used it since. After flushing heavily, the yellowing went away or at least slowed down but only for a bit. Then it started again and hasnt really stopped, just getting progressively but slowly worse. Jury is still out on the air-root pots in my opinion. My trees have for the most part flourished in them, until this episode......See MoreI am so frustrated!
Comments (23)Yup, same problem. Very frustrating. I can't even type comments in on my Android phone - I get in a few characters and then they disappear. I am left uploading pictures from my Android phone. Then I immediately go to my MacBook and edit my post - then I can type in a comment and label my pics. Two step process. Ugh!...See MoreWhat to improve kitchen design, but don't know how! So frustrated!!!
Comments (23)itsourca, my dining room would be rather large is I put it in the living room. Not sure what my view would be from the DR. I wouldn't want to look at kitchen mess from the DR. I don't know. I will give it more thought. suezbell, in the process of trying to remodel our kitchen, I have allowed myself to dream. So I am imagining my kitchen in the space of my living room. I'm sorry, but I can't do it. I am not sure where my living room would go, but most of all, my LR window gets a minimal amount of sunlight before the sun swings over. I would find that depressing. Also, my south side has no windows. I don't quite understand your second post. The divider looks nice. Not sure if you realize that there is no wall between my LR and DR and those rooms are at different levels. My LR and FR also have a fireplace. Design Girl. I hear what you are saying. Years ago we went to an open house. That house had exactly the same layout as mine. We believe that the kitchen was renovated in order to sell the house. They had removed the family room wall and put an island in. At first sight it looked very nice. But there was no furniture on the first floor. I quickly took a couple of pictures and I can show them to you. Picture of kitchen while I am standing in the FR. They moved the doorway to the dining room to allow for a larger fridge. They removed he wall oven and put in a slide in oven and stove. There are minimal cupboards. Looks like the pots and pans have to be stored in the island. Pantry is still in the hall. Family room. Photo probably taken from the same spot as I took kitchen picture. Not sure if other walls had been removed. I didn't think FR furniture would fit very well in order to be able allow access to the sliding door. I considered that the house would be desirable for a young couple with small children. But for four adults with different schedules, I would like to have more privacy and quiet in my FR (my room pretty much). The kitchen can be a noisy place! Yvonnecmartin, I think eating all meals in the dining room is a possibility. Partim, my FR is my TV room. That's probably why I don't really want to remove the wall between the FR and the kitchen. So you are saying put a wall between my DR and LR and extend the kitchen area into the dining area. Have one table and one island and not close any doors in the kitchen? I think I could see something like that working. Our LR and DR windows need upgrading. Maybe put in a sliding door or french doors in the DR?...See MoreI am so frustrated. Any suggestions on a back splash for this granite
Comments (18)missy, you have to remove that 4" piece if you're going to tile. you have a small kitchen, busy granite and now you want to add tile to that back piece? way too much going on. it's very simple to remove score all of the joints, top/bottom, breaking the seal carefully pry away from the wall being careful not to put a hole in the drywall. carefully peel away. hopefully they didn't use a lot of adhesive. if you tear some paper, it's ok. as for the choices, I like the larger gray tile. forget those reddish brown choices. The yellow walls are horrible w/that granite, so if you can paint a warmer gray or cream color, go for it. I like any of these subway tiles. you can use longer ones like a 3x12, 2x8, 2x10,,, but stick with any of the colors in the granite. if you like the travertine option, you must get the Ivory travertine that isn't pink or has a lot of mottling to it. (see pic w/the cutting boards) that type would work. like these ,,,Chiaro travertine, tumbled (this is the one in the picture. it's actually a nice choice w/your granite and flooring. you would choose a grout that matches this tile exactly (because all those holes will get filled w/the grout) Or Baja Cream. This 2x6 Botticino marble would also be a nice choice. It's less textured than travertine. I also like the honed and filled, random bar, light ivory travertine. keep things on the countertop neutral like in the picture. here is santa cecelia granite...See More- 8 years ago
