How high are your ceilings and how high is the island 53"??

For typical ceiling heights, such as in the kitchen, a rough estimate is to hand them about 30 inches to 36 inches above the counter space.

Also, what style and finishes are you using? Brass? Modern?

Hi Jamie.... I'm mostly concerned about the width of the pendants being substantial enough over that size of an island.... the ceilings are 9ft high (108") and island is standard counter height 36". I am hoping to use gold/brass and glass for the pendants as a mixed metal accent.

Yes! They are from west elm... I too loved the large sculpture ones (nice choice!!) My husband prefers the pebble shape, but I'm worried they're too small. I'd love see a pic of yours once hung :-) Good idea on the graph paper/balloons. I'll try that.

I will stop by the house tonight and see if they are hung yet. Hopefully this week sometime.

I initially wanted the pebble shape too! I don't know what changed my mind, bc I felt this one was too school-house looking at first. But I made a couple mockups and just felt like this one went better. IDK lol, I'm making it up as I go haha. I also got the flush mount for over our sink.

I went with the brass too to mix it up and am using brushed brass hardware on my island. Faucet is chrome. Everything else is ORB- perimeter cabinet hardware and doorknobs, etc. One thing I didn't realize is the metal rod is only like 1-foot long and the rest is a gold rope. Look at the picture of the canopy closely and you will see. I'm hoping it doesn't look stupid bc I'm keeping them.

Yes I am! I'm so tired of making decisions haha. These final items to finish up are taking forever. It's like moving and you think you're finished but all the random odd-shaped items take you an entire day to pack up...only X 10 haha.

When these lights got delivered I thought they were so huge. But when I took them to the new kitchen and set them on top of the island, they just looked like a serving bowl size. Not too big at all. I say go big or go home! :)

I had a thought. If you like the small size globes better, what if you hung two of the 3-light chandelier/pendants they have?

I like the smaller one, especially if you're using three. Very cute! Be sure you know about Edison bulbs, though, if that's part of the appeal -- they're not great for task lighting!

Thank you for the comment about the Edison bulbs for task lighting not being great. I was wondering about that and also about whether they “burn” your eyes if you look into them.
