What kind of Scrapbooking do you do?
Comments (5)Thanks, Diane, and no, it's just me and my scrapbook... I have 'scrapper's block' or something right now, I'm trying to decide what I want to add to my pages. For me, it's a way to stop fooling around with web pages! I think paper is more creative than the screen, anyway! I see in your bio that you make laundry soap...I've recently made a dishwasher 'soap' that I like. It's posted at my recipe site...I love homemade products, especially since they don't bother my sinuses as much as commercial products. Hey, maybe I'll check out the Kitchen Table forum, too, and see what that is......See MoreWhat kind of microfibre mop do you have? How do I use it???
Comments (4)I use the Mr. Mister mop with BONA and microfiber cloths from Solutions. I have wood floors in every room except the bath and laundry. The mop is handy because I can put the BONA inside, but the head tends to flop around and you have to refold/change the cloth every so often. I find it easier to just get on my hands and knees unless I'm doing more than a couple of rooms at a time. I have never used it dry. I don't baby my floors, but those Solutions cloths are very *grabby*. I'd be afraid little rocks would get caught in the cloth and add more scratches to the floor. Before mopping, I use a regular old-fashioned dust mop to push everything out the front or back door. No kiddies here so I don't have to mop very often. I sweep or vacuum every few days and spot clean as necessary. I believe BONA is short for BONAKEMI. I purchase the big jug of floor cleaner from the Bona website. I also use it to clean wood furniture and cabinets - I haven't bought Pledge or Murphy or Endust or anything like that in ages. I could be paying way too much for the BONA. I've never comparison shopped it....See MoreFacial mole removel; can a family physician do a good job?
Comments (23)I live in Canada. Moles are called skin tags here. Unless they are extremely tiny a GP cannot remove them. The patient has to see a Dermatologist or a Plastic Surgeon - and the price for removal is determined by the size and number of moles to be removed. Our Ontario provincial plan does not pay for skin tag removal and neither does the office plan - and the amount cannot be claimed on income taxes although under our system the amount is really a small tax credit anyway. It is very hard to get into see a derm or PS for such a procedure. But should a patient want Botox or something like that they would be in the next day. Go figure. I paid $500 last time to have a few moles burned off by a PS. I had previously paid $200 to a derm. The PS was better. Actually he had removed a large mole from my nose several years ago and it did not leave a scar at all. But all moles have to be looked at to determine if the moles themselves would be less prominent than the resulting scars. I have a few other flattish moles and while they could be removed the scars would look worse, so we are leaving them alone. It is a lot easier to see a specialist in the U.S - and I would do so and see what the specialist says about possible scarring. The sad thing is of course is that I could burn some of them off myself - if they were small enough....See MoreWhat facial cream do you use?
Comments (42)I'm an octogenarian and I have never used any face cream either, or even hand lotion. I have used only soap and water all these years. I also use only water-based makeup very lightly applied and then a translucent powder over it. People have offered me some hand lotion from time to time when they have been applying theirs, and if I put any of it on I feel like my hands have gloves on them I just don't like the feeling. Thankfully my life has been such that I I have never had to take care of my hands due to rough work. My skin is not dry and I have been told it is very nice for my age. Just think of all the money I saved by just using soap and water! As a side note, when I was a teenager I noticed that my skin was oily and I was beginning to see blackheads here and there. There was never a female in the family to teach me how to do the girly things so my treatment for my skin then consisted of washing once or twice a day with brown laundry soap. I did this for about a week, as I remember, and it seemed to really work so I stopped and return to using Ivory soap which was the only soap used in the house, and have never had a problem since....See Morejust_terrilynn
