What is your budget and what size? Many rugs labeled as 'Kazak' these days are coming from Pakistan. Some of them are quite good iterations and generally can be found under 3K.

I certainly would not call that a MCM rug. More transitional/traditional.

I also wouldn't call that either Scandinavian or MCM in terms of style. There is no reason they couldn't go with MCM furniture or Danish modern or look well in an MCM home as they are beautiful and would work with any decor. I'm all for the well put together eclectic look as it feels to me as if the person had curated it rather than buying all at once :-) My best friend back in the day lived in an MCM home - although it wasn't called that back then because it was just a contemporary home LOL. Her parents both favored the rich bohemian look (before it was known as that). Her stepfather was a modern jeweler and as I recall they had rugs that had that kind of look and they blended well with their contemporary furniture - which would now be called MCM LOL.

As I recall Rya Rugs were one of the trends back in the day or back in the MCM day. I had a Rya Rug in high school which traveled with me through my early first apartments.

You might check Karastan rugs as I happened to be looking through their selection a few days ago online because I have a Karastan Rug that is about 20 years old and I was wondering if they still sell that pattern. They had a lot of rugs that looked in that style/motif you like and they appeared to be moderately priced - especially with sales on like the one Macy's is currently having. Of course, price is going to depend on size.

ETA - And the Karastan Rug is the Kirman 717 so I guess it's a true classic since I loved it 20 years ago and I still love it. :-)

While I like traditional Kazak's, Bokhara rugs give off almost the same feel, and are way more budget friendly. They do come in all colors, but generally you will find more red Bokharas than anything else.

Not sure of the size ‘ Kazak’ you are looking for but I just bought a ‘Kazak’ look 4 x 6’ rug imported from Pakistan For less than half of what you are talking about. So it is an ‘imitation (I think) but still very attractive and ‘contemporary’ in feel Imo.

I am not sure where it was made but it is a new rug.

Very pretty and very affordable.

Also check ‘offer up‘, Facebook Market place, EBTH auction online auction and Craigslist for great deals on nice wool rugs. My daughter got a smashing wool Serapi for $80 on EBTH but she had to be patient.
