Last night I watched the episode I taped. I was pleasantly surprised. Alex was very relaxed and not condescending at all (in my opinion, she kinda comes across that way on Chopped). I even learned something I want to try. For bacon bits she cut the bacon very small, then added a cup of water to the pan while it cooked. She said that this way much of the fat is rendered from the bacon before starting to crisp. I interpret that to mean that I won't have to brown the bacon as long and it won't be dry or overcooked. At any rate, I'm going to give it a try.

We watch him every night, too. I was just looking him up on Wikipedia not too long ago as he mentioned having a 16 y.o. son, so my daughter and I were wondering how old he is. He also has another child who must be a bit younger as this was his second marriage and he had no children by his first.
