I'm not sure if I'll buy or not. I was never a person to exercise, that is, in a gym or with videos because I was always so active outdoors and such plus just don't like to. I might consider buying Sansone's but for now I'm going to use the UTube videos. Next winter would be the ideal time for me to have the DVDs on hand because that's when I "rest" from all the garden work - rest too much. I love to walk too, but like I keep saying, the road is so busy now it's not enjoyable. 1 -2 miles a day is great, it becomes almost addictive doesn't it? Always something new to see along the way and before you know it you're back home again.

It's a balance for the *patient* to decide. Cancer treatment can be so debilitating/painful that you don't feel as though you ARE living -- or that YOU are living! I cringed a bit to hear Trebek say that one reason he is pressing on is because his wife wants him to live. Of course, but IME that is undue pressure. I am not in anything like Trebek's situation with his pancreatic cancer. People live many years with the multiple myeloma I have -- live *well* with the ongoing chemo to keep it at bay. However, when I go for my chemo, I see patients in the Cancer Center who are suffering terribly. Their families are there, suffering too! When I see someone with so little chance of "survival "(with whatever degree of living that may entail), I think of my BFF. She developed a glioma (brain cancer) in her early sixties. Chances were 2% survival past two years. She had surgeries. She had radiation. She was terribly damaged and diminished. She finally called a halt, refusing the next 'one more thing' that doctors always have waiting. She deeply regretted the time she had lost 'fighting it'. She was devastated to know that her grandchildren's final memories of her would be the barely human person who survived the treatment, but not the disease.

That’s a great video Terriks, but I can say with 100% confidence levels (a little statistical humor) that at least 75% of the people who see that will not understand it at all, and will either dismiss it, disagree with it, or just turn it off halfway through. The 25% of people who already wear masks will appreciate it even if they don’t understand it. Many Americans are functionally illiterate and many more are barely literate. In the early 90’s the “average” of adult literacy was at the 6th grade level. That is higher now, at just under the eighth grade level, but that “increase” is due in part to a greatly expanded definition of literacy brought about in the past twenty years. It’s no coincidence that hospitals no longer ask adult patients to rate their pain descriptively from mild discomfort to severe. Instead we select from a menu of cartoon facial expressions. Our national facility with numbers, including the concept of percentages, is just as bad or worse. I’ll bet I could ask 25 random people in the WalMart in my town what fifty percent represents and majority of them would not know it is half of a whole. You may think that explanation is “dumbed down” enough to make an impact but IMO and in my area of the country is is, sadly, way over peoples heads.

He was a class act. Just last week THIS happened after an episode aired: “On Thursday's episode, Navy veteran Burt Thakur won a tight game, taking home $20,400. After the episode finished taping, Thakur tearfully told Trebek how he watched “Jeopardy!” with his grandfather when he was a child, and in doing so learned how to speak English.”
