Choosing a free standing tub is going to kill me!
Comments (12)Thank you Lotteryticket. I love the first one and that's actually exactly what I'm wanting. Is that not a slipper tub? The ones I've seen online have been described as slipper tubs. I called the store for that one and it is $5,369.00. Every one that I have found that looks like that seems to be in the 3-5K range, which is much higher than we can pay. The second one isn't really our style. We do want the oval shape, and I want to make sure it has a nice slope on the end so it's comfortable to lay in. I saw the Mozzano by Victoria Albert in a showroom and I really liked it, but it was in the 3K range. It had a 40 degree slope on one end and was really comfortable. I would love recommendations! I'm going crazy and getting more frustrated every day since this is causing our project to come to a complete standstill!...See Morewhich free standing bath tub?
Comments (5)I purchased a free-standing, composite soaking tub from Devon & Devon (D&D) (they have a clawfoot, but I chose a different style). Two advantages of composite over acrylic: it holds the heat, and scratches or stains can be easily "buffed out" with light sand paper. The D&D tub has a satin-like matte finish. I use Windex to clean it. D&D is pricey, but after trying out tubs for months, it was my favorite, and I was willing to wait several more months for delivery. Other brands I considered: Wetstyle (from Canada), Bain Ultra, Toto, Kohler, Duravit, Blu Bathworks, Mti, Hydrosystems, Axor, and T&L. Zucchetti and V&A tubs were tempting - but I didn't like the look of the exposed drain pipe....See MoreFree standing tub or built-in tub?
Comments (1)I think it depends on how you live and if you're planning for resale. I am a bath person and chose an insert so that I could have an air jetted tub, have room for candles, bath salts, etc. and for ease of cleaning around it. I was told that it can sometimes be difficult to clean around free standing tubs, especially in a smaller space. Also, we wanted a larger one as my husband enjoys it after a long day of cycling. The tub insert may not be the rage right now but it functions best for us....See Morefree standing tub with air jet
Comments (2)We bought a 4'×6' air tub. Two hundred jets i believe through HD. The company is in Georgia. The day after my wife ordered it the fellow from the tub factory called her. And went over the entire tub so she could ask questions. The drain we had ordered was wrong, he caught that. It was a unique experience that made my wife very comfortable with her choice. Was delivered within ten days...See Moretboe44
