Hi Ingrid! I hope your roses are doing good after a rainy winter. Thank you for commenting! We had the bed on that wall and it did not work well. The sun shines directly into the room on that wall and blasts us with light and heat at sunrise on summer mornings. It's right next to the path to walk into the bathroom, also not "restful". It did not look cramped, but it felt cramped. We like it much better where it is now. I can always just leave the rest of the room empty.

Looks okay to me as is ... but it would look even better with a wider top to that cabinet and with the tv lower and w/o anything between the top and tv. You can keep the cabinet you have and still attain the wider look. Cabinet is too nice to just abandon it. IF you agree with those that suggest you need a slightly wider TV stand, simply add a top to it as deep and wide and in any material and finish you choose. [Think fireplace mantel or wide stair step or wide thresh hold board or countertop.]

niccidhg, you've made my Monday!!! : ) As a designer, you gather all this knowledge over the decades and want to impart it to someone, so I do this on Houzz. I try to be realistic and to illustrate layouts for rooms. But I often wonder whether I am reaching anyone out there. So thanks for the compliment. If you do the gears (kind of cool!), please mesh them properly. I like the clock. It goes! And I like clocks anyway. But that clock is not redundant. If you're close enough to read the digital appliance clocks, you probably can't read the big one, and vice versa. Are you sure you need something else? Try taking the plants off the fridge and see if it looks more "done". They make it seem like you need stuff going on up there, and I'm not sure that you do.
