I think you should stick with the colors of your seating as you have now. I would rather you not have such an overstuffed recliner? but comfort often must come into play. your sofa from the back looks fine. from looking in your folder, i think you like pale blue and yellow. so perhaps we could softly bring some of those in. lighter tables would also be nice. i can also put together a set of at least 5 in this line.

If those are laminate cabinets, you might find laminate paint. I've seen Canadian designers use it to redo those same cabs, but not sure what the paint would be called in the U.S.

I see a few things that aren’t horrible, by any means, but could be changed. Mirror and sideboard, for instance, as mirror is too large for the sideboard and it overwhelms the room, reflecting the t v. Try the art over the sideboard and add a floor lamp where the plant is, as it will do double duty for the sofa and the art. Have you ever thought about adding a floor to ceiling strip of trim to separate the dining area from the living area and painting that wall a color? Something like this with a couple of white shelves on that wall?

Very nice rooms. I don't have a wall color to suggest, but I would paint both rooms the same color (no feature wall). I'd consider a new coffee table, ceiling fixture, pillows, possibly new drapes in a color to compliment your rug and new wall color, a different chair cover once you decide on colors and a different DR table. To me, the FR looks crowded and somewhat cluttered. You have a lot of small items and too many items on your end tables, your table in front of the window (do you need this table?), your TV stand and your fireplace decor. You could also use larger art on your wall. The floor lamp in your DR, have you tried that between your sofas instead of the end table or by the upholstered chair by your desk rather than that end table? Keep us updated on your progress.
