Need help with Backsplash- Mock-up greatly appreciated :))
Comments (15)Dawn, How exciting! We built a new house 23 years ago, and I don't remember having the angst this remodel is causing. Maybe being younger and having my hands full with a wee babe kept me more centred. Of course, we had a GC- and this time around I'm taking on that role, so that may have something to do with it. Buehl, The tile is from Italy, a company called Marca Corona. I tried to find it online and I'm guessing it may be either 'Re-Action' or Evolution. Very reasonably priced. I also found a pic of Evolution at Oldcountrytile.com that site has beautiful gallery pics that are worth navigating. Unfortunately, I can't post a link to the exact page, but if you go to the Home page, click on products, then walls, then the pink dot at the end of the second line...hee hee... you can see a pic of the tile in a bathroom. The backsplash pics are truly inspiring and I recommend for anyone still on the hunt! Here is a link that might be useful: fastfloors has a pic of Re-Action from Marca Corona...See MoreWhich hood looks better in this space? (pics & mock-ups)
Comments (42)A few people have suggested I try a different shape or proportion. What about the Wolf Pro Wall Chimney hood to go with my Wolf range? (I can get a deal on a floor model.) It is more substantial than the Best hood (the Best pyramid has a total height of 11â including the 2â lip & the chimney cover is 12-3/4â wide; the Wolf pyramid has a total height of 18â including the 4â lip & the chimney cover is 24â wide). Some of you have suggested a hood with some curve. The Wolf has a curved lip, which I think looks good in person, although that may not be what you meant. I donâÂÂt have enough paper left to mock this one up....See MorePretty please, need suggestions/mock-ups for shutter and door color
Comments (16)Denita, thanks for the article. Beth H, I am glad you were able to find it. On my computer the rye color actually looks tan (and the pearl looks gray!) That is why I need some outside input. I do like the details on the example houses -- but this was an insurance job, after a tree fell on the house, and unplanned and therefore I had no money for adding details unfortunately (the contractor & I did talk about possibilities). I had to replace the roof, siding, shutters, porch columns and slab. I did have him add wider trim around the porch and garage, and the windows. I could paint the inner windows a dark color -- they are vinyl but should hold a good paint. I am attaching a picture of the house as it looked after the tree damage, with the old shutters in place. The shutters were original to the house -- do you all think it looks better without? (to me it still looks rather naked without them, and without the tree!) I am still hoping that someone will come along who can photoshop in the different possibilities. I would especially like to see Kathy's suggestion. I do appreciate all of your input!...See MoreHelp Me Mock up some built-ins
Comments (3)I just measured, and it’s 36 inches from the edge of the fireplace to the door trim on the right-hand side, In 24 inches from the edge of the left side to the window trim. In order to be symmetrical both sides should be 24 inches. I’m thinking a single cabinet base, with open book shelves above, Would work. I’d be ever so grateful if someone could mock that up, so I could get a sense of the look/scale....See MoreMolly
