How often do you change your Air compressorâs oil and Air filte
Comments (2)Thanks ewalk! Good hearing from you. My Monster has lasted 40 yrs and I have another identical like new waiting minus the motor if needed. I have stock piled Too Much Stuff over the years. I just loaded my last CTR color monitor today to take to GoodWill tomorrow. I have had over 10 complete computer sys here when I was into that. Now I need my âÂÂCloset SpaceâÂÂ, Peace Of Mind for my one 3 yr old GranddaughterâÂÂs projects. Take Care!...See MoreDisappointed new Stihl Trimmer owner
Comments (22)If I am not mistaken... All Stihl equipment is required to be assembled and serviced when sold(fueled, oiled, test ran). A few people are also correct that Stihl has a 7 day return policy. This is not a dealer policy but Stihl's. If something can't be returned call Stihl. Or If something can't be returned it might not be in sellable condition. Last on my rant is box store returns. Try returning a lawn mower to home depot that has gas in it. You will be told you must take the machine out of the building because they can't have fueled machines inside the store. Some returns people will tell you to go down to the tool rental t have them drain the gas. They are never happy when told to do this. Most of the items being returned are sent to an outside company and checked over as well as repaired. This costs the HD about 40 bucks. Unit is then sold as refurbished. HD return policy on fuel equipment has changed several times over the years but was only 14 days on power equipment. After that machine is sent out for warranty repair. If it is not warranty(which it was usually not) customers will get an estimate to repair. If not repaired customer still pays the $40 estimate fee. You want best price do the small dealers a favor and shop Home Depot. You want service do yourself a favor and shop at a dealer. Also remember just because something is 3 months old does not mean it will be covered under warranty. Example fuel tank vent leaks fuel into air cleaner. Customer removes air filter to make machine work. Debris enters engine. Original tank vent was warranty. But now entire warranty is void. Example customer bought new mower did not put oil in it. Ran engine for 1 min. Realized what he did added oil. Unit runs ok for 6 months. Now engine is seized. Tech finds metal transfer on crankshaft. Customer claims he has had oil in it from min 1and changed it every 40 hours( which is true)not warranty. We fix 16-20 mowers a day. 1-2 warranty requests a day. Warranties approved by tech and mtg a month .............4 last month. I have seen returns on used units. We check them over If nothing is damaged and unit is barley used it gets returned and discounted to the next customer. I have also seen engines warrantied because a customer used straight gas. Obviously this is not the norm. But a good dealer will go the extra mile and talk to distributors or manufactures to try. I also know that the profit that a dealer makes on an fs46 is about 10- 20 dollars. Try asking a counter person for a discount on the cheapest chainsaw or trimmer....See More2011 New Rose Plantings - Surprises and Disappointments
Comments (36)I realized that I didn't really answer the original question of the thread. I'm zone 9-10, SW 18. hot and dry summers, mild winters! Apologies as this is NOT the OGR forum and some of my faves are OGRs or old HTs. :) :) :) Ones I really liked this year: Lavender Lassie - I saw a charming specimin of this at Descanso Gardens that I feel in love with. It was absolutely wonderful. I bought a 2 gallon from ARE and planted at the end of 2010. She's put up at least two 5' or so canes with such beautiful clusters of blooms at the end. She seems really strong and vigorous. I can't wait to see what she does next year. La France Cl. - Just gets more beautiful and beautiful. It has some little bit of something that makes it more romantic than a typical hybrid tea to me. Mme Berard - So beautiful. Growing fast and blooming frequently. Tipsy Imperial Concubine Just a baby but keeps blooming! The blooms are such a lovely mix of colors. Sombrieul now in it's 2nd year it's really starting to throw up huge canes,... like 6 feet. I'm in love with it. It's blooms are so beautiful. They have it growing up a huge arbor at Descanso, it's to die for. So many petals... ! Duftendes Weisskirchen Planted 8/10 as a band... it's just a charming little thing. It's blooms are such a vibrant purplish hot pink. It wants to bloom all the time and just is very happy. Eden Cl. and James Galway cl both put on a LOT of growth and bloom this year (they were planted early '10) The Faun (Bossa Nova) this blooms more than anything in my yard and I love the fully double old-style blooms on it. I love the low shape of the bush. Great for a border plant so far. Archduke Charles I love you, Archduke! The blooms change color and even though it's perported to be a slow grower, I'm still getting some growth on mine. Such a charming thing. Madame Joseph Bonnaire the most beautiful creature. Threw out a couple big canes and a big root down through the pot and into the ground. A vigorous thing! Bounced back after I repotted it and I can't wait to see what it does next year after I get it in the ground. The blooms are GORGEOUS. Madame Alfred Carriere Despite being in partial shade, throwing up huge canes... can't wait to see what it does next year. Delicate beautiful flowers,... such strong growth! Dissappointments: Tiffany - an own-root since late '09... still super tiny and rather upset. Might replace it with a grafted one. William Shakespeare 2000 1 of 2 died and the 2nd one hasn't grown (both put in the ground early '10). I'll see what it does next year. Yves Paiget Had to pot because the bed wasn't ready and it outright died, almost immediately after getting it. :\...See MoreDisappointed with new wimdows
Comments (40)Wow some post not to add to the craziness but here is my 2 Pennies worth. To state that a Window is Dissapointing due to a "weak screen" is not a fair or reasonable comment. 1. Screens are not meant to be moved sideways it can drag on the lower track as they do not contain rollers or lubricant to allow them to move easily. 2.It is common place to have Rolled form screens on many high end window products. 3.Most Commercial Grade wood manufacturers make 2 standard Screen options Full and half both are fixed Screens. 4.Both are held into the frames with Plungers and a channel 5. Most Showroom's / salesmen will have the screen frame and material options on display. 6. As an older person your greatest concern should be the performance and ease of operation of the window sash not the Screens. 7. we replace multiple times damaged screens that were damaged in Transit or at the site and have encountered multiple times bent frames. 8. We would never straighten a screen frame other than temporarily until the manufacturer gets a replacement to us. Screens can be an issue not a big one given the cost of any screen is in the $40- $130 Max price range from small to super large 50" X 110" At an aadded cost you could have purchased Roller screens which is a high add cost but may be worth it for you as the screens retract into an enclosure and out of harms way when not needed....See More- 8 years ago
